i Currently have a d14a4 Engine in my EJ9 but have found a D15z6 engine in a local scrappy with 32 genuine miles

how hard is this engine to swap over, what will i need, and can i use my existing gearbox etc.??

any responses will be greatly appreciated!

is your existing engine damaged?or you just looking for more power?
if your own engine is ****ed,ok but otherwise it wouldnt be a good swap if its power you after

Well if it was me i wouldn't bother upgrading to a SOHC vtec. There isn't much behind them! At least go for a dohc! I don't know much about this engine conversion! I would think u have to upgrade the ECU and as for mounts. They are probably different too but you would find some for cheap on here probably! Best of luck buddy
:nice:

Will need to run extra wires to make vtec work and also convert to a 4 wire 02 sensor. Your gearbox will bolt up fine and all existing mounts will be reused. But as said already if your own engine is fine I can't see the point of swapping this over as gains are so small you could easily pull the same power out of your d14.

yeh its just power i was after, but on the cheap....i want vtec lol

i meant 32k gen miles aswell sorry

wha wud i have to do to the D14 to get some ponies outta tha?

wud i be able to put the vtec head on my engine?

i want vtec lol

This swap IMO is a complete waste of time. I drive my car with the D15 and I can say the VTEC on this engine must be the mildest form ever. You can barely feel the difference between VTEC and normal. So This is not a good choice if you want VTEC

As for power between the two engines it really isn’t that noticeable. Between my car with I/H/E and my friends 1.4 with no mod's I pull away from him but not really worth getting excited about.

If more "Ponies" is what you require I would have to suggest that saving for a couple more months and get a DOHC engine.
