Have recently put my ek9 back on the road (5 months) and my car fires up, however it stalls immediately after. The car was serviced by Tgm and had passed m.o.t just before I declared it sorn. The car was running perfectly. Anyway, since Monday, I have had to charge the battery to get it starting, but as said, it doesn't hold the idle. I can drive the car, but I can not let it lose throttle, otherwise the car will die.
Read up on numerous problems, but most things got changed and replaced during service. Cleaned the iacv out today and problem is still occurring.

Any help would be most appreciated

Sounds like IACV problem if it won't stay running without you holding throttle open. Did you remove the IACV to clean it?

The ecu came up with a code 14... Which is the iacv. Took it off today and cleaned it but the problem is still occurring. Any other ideas?

replace the battery, i had to jump start my car one time and whenever i let go of the throttle the revs will drop right down near the zero, replaced the battery and it was fine.

are you running coolant through the IACV still, stock setup?

this happened to my old 9 mate, it turned out to be iacv, i took it off and cleaned it and solved the problem. it would run for about 10 seconds then die

from experience it will most likely be one of the IACV / lambda / main relay

best of luck with sorting it, i hate problems like this :((

Tama666- I am running coolant and it is stock
Stevenek9 - I hate these Problems too ... I read your post, glad you got everything sorted
I ve cleaned the Iacv already, twice lol. The far musts fires up and dies immediately ... The elctrics all work on the second click on ignition so doubt it's the battery.. As said, the car fines fine providing I don't let go of the throttle. The only problem is when I hold a rev, the needle fluctuates a bit.

if it's the needle moving about too i'd check the dizzy, if it's been sitting might be as simple as the dizzy cap and rotor arm needing a clean

all my electric was working fine, i even drove from london to gatwich and back. the revs was still dropping.

happened to one of my mates car this week also, he left the headlights on and drained the battery, had to jump start and revs was also dropping near 0, think the battery needs proper charge.

hmm some are and some aint mate. Check the bolt holes on the iacv if they match up and the connector is a 2 pin yes it will fit

lol... was sort of looking for a definate answer but thanks reagdless.

cleaned the iacv again last night and let it dry over night, cleaned the inlet mani side also... the car now fires up normal when cold, but as the car warms up and normally settles at 800-900 rpm.. my 9 just drop to 500-600 and once the gas pedal is touched, the car dies..
any ideas?
