Just wondering if anyone can recommend any good literature on engine tuning/building, ideally relating to B series or wider reading if not.

Thanks:blinx:

I've got Four Stroke Performance Tuning by Graham A. Bell, also Modern Engine Tuning and Forced Induction Tuning by the same author. Modern Engine tuning is probably the best one to go for as it has more ECU based stuff in it, FSPT is quite old tech and more based on carbs.

I had a copy of 'How to rebuild Honda B Series Engines' somewhere but I think I lent it to a mate and never got it back. Good walkthrough on a stripdown and rebuild, worth getting if you are going to be getting your hands dirty.

Thanks for the advice:nice: Yeah I have the 'How to rebuild...' as you say a very straight forward and informative read. I'll certainly look into the suggestions. Have you every read 'How to build honda horsepower?' think it is also one of the S.A series. Looks like a worth while read with empirical research to support the claims. May purchase it but seems a little pricey at £35ish so would like some feed back if you (or indeed anyone else) has ever read it.

I haven't read it but I had a quick look at it, it seemed to be more a book of various big HP builds and the specs and stuff that went into achieving it. I didn't bother getting it as I was looking for theory type books where this sounded like more like a recipe book... I could be wrong but that was the impression I got.

Similar impression to what I had after looking at the preface online. Quiet often the S.A books seems to lack theoretical underpinnings and detail
