Energy bushes durameter/harshness

Ive not installed the whole energy kit yet.
If you find a decent hardrace stockist you can order per bush instead of the whole kit.
The energy kit I've got is for ek4 iirc and comes with afew bushes I can't use on an ek9.
From an ease of installation point of view the polys are a much simpler install after you've got the original bush out, although with a press the hardrace aren't difficult...

Great thanks for the info....much appreciated :nice:

Will most probably go with ES as the Hardrace ones are so freaking expensive!:shocked::shocked:

If you buy per bush it's not too bad. Assuming you've got camber arms etc already then those bushes don't need to be replaced...
What car you putting the bush kit on? I'll have afew spares from my kit I can sell you cheap.

Got an EK4 but i have an EK9 subframe, steering rack and 5 stud conversion on it. I still need to have the car jacked and fully inspected for any failing bushes. If they are not too bad i will hold on to them, if not i will see which is the best way forward.

Which bushes will you have for sale?

I've run both ES, HR rubber and HR spherical.

I was expecting HR rubber to be better but ES is equally as good - and this was on a high km road car for 3 years!

People do complain that ES wears out and can get squeeky over time but I haven't found that to be the case at all.

The one advantage of ES is that you can install them over a week with just a variety of basic hand tools where as HR there is simply no getting around the fact you need a decent press and a bit of experience using one.

I've installed hardrace rubber with a hammer and socket before now. It's possible but just a massive faff, much prefer the polys for installation.

According to all the Interweb blurb polys should outlast the car and far superior wear than the rubber variant.

Nice! Putting the bush in the freezer and then heating the arm can help with the socket and hammer trick!

I do have my doubts on poly bushes LONG term. I just feel that eventually the bush is going to go dry and then flog out. In fact I've seen this happen with Skunk2 Pro camber arm bushes. When I've run poly bushes (ES, Function7 arms, Skunk2 etc) I've given the bushes a relube whenever things are taken apart.

Yeah that's exactly what I did. Massive heat on the arm and frozen bush. Once they are in straight it's pretty simple after that.
I'll bear that in mind about relubing.

This is a coincidence. I am half way through doing my car with es bushes. Annoyingly over half the kit is no use due to upgrades.
They have gone in upto now with no bother.
