Ek9 vs mb6 vs jdm dc2

Right... can the EK9 boys sort something out which has baffled me and my mate. Just how fast is the EK9? My mate used to have JDM DC2 with mugen manifold and de-catted hi power exhaust and it was rapid. Now he's got after much anticipation an EK9 with spoon N1 exhaust after he sold his ITR to his mate. Since he got his EK9, he wanted to compare with my MB6 with only de-cat and cheap universal backbox. So, we went for a blast on private road and to our amazement after 3-4 tries 1st gear rollin up to 100mph,my mb6 was either neck and neck or half car length behind. How is this??? I told him there must be something wrong but he's confused and called his mate with DC2. Now, when he races the DC2, up to 100mph, he's only like up to 2 car lengths behind but when i pit my MB6 against the DC2, he hammers me and its like 4-5 car lengths behind. Strange? I always wondered how the EK9 has quoted 0-60 of 5.7 sec??
Lastly, if my MB6 keeps up with EK9, then how much difference is there between EK4 and EK9?? Anyone raced an MB6?
 
sorry for my ignorance, but whats a MB6?
 
oh yeah kalvtec... i have had a run with a full spoon breathing dc2 and there is near enough no difference to 80mph.
i have had a little run with an mb6 and i was a good distant infront.

Also, from experience, the ek4s are very capable cars. however, in comparison with the ek9, the 9 is better in everyway.

ALLRIGHT guys its sorted. I just spoke to my mate who took his EK9 to a mechanic and explained it did need a service plus his timing belt needed replacing AND his rev limiter was cutting out 1000rpm early (8500 as opposed to 9500) so once thats sorted, so will be my MB6 :nono::D
 
well if he still has a std ecu he will see nothin like 9500. iv got an ek4 and in a straight line there is nothing between that and an ek9 just who gets the better start but once over 100mph you pass them dont know why it is or if its just my car. would like to race one now that i have my ctr cams in

ye but how standard was it. cause they only rev to 8600 standard so for one to rev to 9500 on a std ecu without after market ecu or chip or whatever
 
yeah sounds like its been spooon`d or somethin, no way standard.
 
lumek4, your ek4 must be a good one as i have never had a ek4 next to me whilst accelerating.

dont rely on youtube has a accurate reference... Theres a video of an ek9 gapping 11k

exactly how fast are ek4's to 60mph. And whats there top speed. im gessing the have a B16A/B
 
The only figures i,ve seen is 7.9 to 60mph and top speed is about 130-135max. MB6 is pretty much the same to 60 (u wont see any car pullin away) but has higher tops at 140+.
 
maybe the mb6 held in a straight line but the ek9 wasnt ubilt for straight lines it was built as a track car
 
ek9 is definately made with balance and cornering in mind, however, despite of this, the ek9 is def faster than the mb6!
 
Ive heard6 second 60 times and ive bben in one at 145mph.. Great vid!
