Hello everyone, I ve been doing some research lately but I really need some help. I m opting to buy an Ek9 Type R, but buy the time I get my driving license there might not be any for sale. That s because there are only two type Rs in the entire Greece. If I do not manage to find one, would the VTI be a good choice, or is there anything better than the VTI? Also bare in mind that I don't really plan on doing any big mods to the car for the first like 5 years. Thanks a lot to everyone :)

Hi Christos,

Welcome to the forum mate.
Here is a link to the EK4/EK9 comparison thread. https://www.ek9.org/index.php?threads/official-ek4-ek9-comparison.11328/

Have a read and make up your mind what you would like to do.
Being 17 and also your first licensed car I would imagine your insurance will be v.high (not sure what Greek insurance is like).
A VTI is more than capable really and with some bolt ons they can look/sound/perform quite well to be honest.

Ps. Hope this helps. :))

Thanks a lot man, I ve already read this post coupled with many others. I just needed someone who really knows both of the cars to tell me whether or not the EK4 is worth it if I cant find a type R. And again, thanks a lot I really appreciate the help :)

You're welcome bud!
In my opinion it's worth it. Plenty fun to be had in the EK4, I started in an EJ9, then put a B18 in that. Definitely still fun cars but if a 9 is what you desperately want just hold off for one to come up :))

Γεια σου Χριστο. all ek9 are right hand drive and in Greece all cars are left hand drive. go for ek4 and when you crow up you can buy the new typer (with turbo):nerv:

Hey Alex, I m not sure about that. I mean I think that there where Type Rs with left hand drive as I ve seen a coupe of them

nop. ek9 is JDM only. Honda make them for Japan Domestic Market.

Alright, so the ones that I saw were not EK9s.... Well I believe you but what's weird is that especially one of the cars I found, was left hand drive but everything looked as if it was an EK9, even in the chassis I could see the seam welding. Any thoughts on that?
