Hey everyone,

Standard spec, apart from the cage and DC2 Wheels.
About 60,000 miles on the clock.

Looks great man!!

Standard and clean is definatly an understatement! Looks factory fresh! :))

Are you sure you've got an EK9?
Things i've noticed:

You have no rear tints. I always thought all EK9's came with tints except racebase models.
You have mirrors and CD pocket in your sun visors.
You have blue sun strip on your front screen.
Might be the flash but your dash top looks a totally different colour to the rest of the interior.
Also your lights look alot darker than the standard dark EK9 lights (Maybe home made Ek4 lights).

Could you post some more pics of the interior please.

It might just be me and hopefully i'm proven wrong.

I am probably the wrong person to ask as i dont know the variants...

But if i look under the bonnet i find a little metal plate saying "EK9-1004138" and when i have called Honda to check parts i have given them this number and they have confirmed the car is what it is...

Can anyone else shed some light on this as i have been lead to believe by the engine, documents, pure power and how it came out the factory that this is infact an EK9 Type R.... anyone?

If the stamp in the engine says EK9, and as do the documents I think it will be a 9 dude!
These mods could have easily been done by the previous owner but as said the colour in dashboard is a bit dodgy, is it infact a different colour from the door-cards and rest of the interior?
End of the day the car a minted and so long as you like it thats the main thing! :))

Kammy - The colour is the same throughout, it could be the flash from my D50 as it was going off when i was taking interior pics earlier on.

Cheers dude, it only takes one person to make you think and now i'm questioning it - however, the engine is the engine it should be (as i have had performance autoworks look at it) and it kicks in when it should and pulls like it should... like you said though, it looks and sounds like it and comes up under checks as one so if it isnt... the previous owners have done an exceptional job :)

Aw thats fine then dude, the interior was the only thing that I was even a little wary of as obv its easy enough to change door-cards and interior but a full dash is a different matter lol
All the other stuff are just looks, could be preference to the previous owner I mean its not hard to change the sun visors and put a sun strip on. Mate, you have yourself a mint ek9!
:drive:

Oh i love it when they play hard to get!

He did say to me "Ohhhh these chores we do ey!!" i said "well...its more like an OCD to be honest" - thats when he started pressure washing the floor next to my car, moss invasion! i'll probably have to clean it again tomorrow!

Although i am going to have to go and check it now!! haha. Cheers mate, as long as it looks and performs as a standard EK9 should then i am happy! thanks for the compliments on the 9, such a pleasure to own!

Lol I am sure you will mate, I would do the same with the doubts haha honestly though the main thing is the plate in the engine bay, the documents and your insurance will know if its and ek9 aswell so honestly dont worry! It just looks as though you have bought a very well maintained 9 owned by a honda enthusiast :))
Your lucky enough to get one, im still on my 1st car here

just check the code on the firewall just above where the intake manifold sits, there a number there if its ek9- whatever and matches your vin plate it is a proper ek9.It is a 9 by the looks of it

If all the codes add up then good.
I'm just always wary as so many fakes about these days.
It was mainly interior I thought was weird.
Sorry if I scared you, lol.

In all fairness i've owned it for over 2 years and only recently started transforming it to get it clean (still needs some TLC) but now ive moved home, got a new job i can start to really spend some money on her! Booking her in for a full on check/service at a honda specialist next month and then when the engine is fully sorted i will start the tuning :)

Ah, you will eventually have one! took me some time (had a rover 200 LOL and then a Toyota Glanza V - which was fun) but you will get it!
