hi lads just wondering will ek9 shocks fit to the ek4 hubs??

Just done it to mine, thanks to Kaks_EK9rx selling me his old set off his now he has gone over to coilovers. For the cost of getting a set and the ease of swapping them over, if your not looking to go super low then do it. Has totally transformed the handling on my EK4. ;)

thanks for the replies lads, and what was the difference? are the ek9 shocks harder/lower or what than the ek4 shocks, i have weitec 45mm springs from an ek4 to go on to them, is there really a tremendous difference?

Well I've gone from a totally stock Ek4 setup so I can only compare to that. Yes it's lower but prob only 20-30mm at most (but it is noticeable over standard) and the ride is certainly a lot firmer. I haven't fully exploited it's on limit potential yet due to crap wet weather we've been having, but I can tell from occasionally pushing it through corners I know well locally that it's a lot tighter with a fair bit more feedback through the steering. The car just sits down more with much less body roll.

If you're running stock dampers with 40mm springs I would say you'll still notice a greater ride and handling difference with an oem Ek9 setup in comparison. It might not sit so low, but i just feel like I have the confidence to push the car that little bit more knowing it was designed to be the best road/track compromise, and it doesn't knock your teeth out every time you hit a bump either! On my last Ek4 I had some years ago before I got my CRX,I had it lowered on Tanabe 30mm springs on standard shocks ,and it was pretty awful. Got a little more knowledge of what you should and shouldn't do now and realised I should have gone for an Ek9 setup then, especially considering you can usually pick a good set up for around £100, rather than paying out £150ish for lowering springs and having the agro of fitting them to standard shocks ,instead of the relatively straight forward task of swapping the complete units over!

Told you that the EK9 suspension was an upgrade Simon :)

p.s Still owe you that passenger ride in my EK9

All Honda/Acura Suspension are compatible! DC2-r rear just requires a DC2 LCA!
