i prefer the factory shifter of the integra GSR USDM, its shorter throw but not so short that you start to grind gears or that the bottom side of the shifter hits the exhaust.
isnt the ek9 shifter the same as an itr one? like blinx said id personally prefer an oem honda shifter. Im sure there must be SOME difference, as an ek4 shifter is black, whereas a ek9 one is silver, so they arent the same??
its not that much shorter but does feel better than the ek4. dont think its worth changin 2. prob get one of ebay try it out see what u think plus they are cheap but dont know how well they fit. would be good if somebody has an after market short shifter to put up a post see how they feel and like it
The EK9 shifter is indeed different and shorter. It is also the dual bend version vs. the standard EK4 single bend.
We've tried fitting a USDM ITR shifter to a 6th gen chassis before and it required chopping the bottom-most part of the shifter where it attaches to the fork on the shift rod. The EK9 one does not require this.
We could have technically stretched that fork on the shift rod but it would have caused a reduction in smoothness during shifts. This is what eBay shifters are notoriously known for. They are a universal application that does not distinguish between models and are largely shaped for twincam Integras.
