I'm about to buy authentic red EK9 Recaro seats. The owner said that the rails won't completely fit in my USDM 1996 Honda Civic CX hatchback. He said when he had it in his EK, only 3/4 of the bolts were fastened on. Is it possible for me to use my OLD rails that I have in my car now and attach it to the new seats?

The rails will be out of a DC2 Type R

You won't be able to use your existing rails as the Recaros are bottom mounted where as your CX ones are side mounted. Obviously anything can be made to fit.

Sell the DC2 rails and find EK9 ones (probable easier said than done in the US!)

Thanks so much for the good information. Just out of curiosity, is it possible to drill a fourth whole on the car's body so all 4 bolts can fasten down?

Just buy ek9 rails instead if using the dc2 rails (previously said) and you won't have any problems getting all 4 bolts to fit. Cheers!

i wouldnt drill a hole man... its easier to do the above. my mate drilled a hole once and its 4 years later, the hole is rusted quite a bit, where as the OEM hole is fine.

You can also manipulate the rail. Cut and weld. Has been done many a time but people over this way pal.

Unless you can get some aftermarket seat rails.
