I am going to be investing in some Red Recaros from an EK9, i was wondering whether i will need the rails from them to fit into my EJ9 or will they directly fit into my existing EJ9 rails?

Thanks :)

They wont fit on your EJ9 rails,

You need DC2 rails which I have as they are pretty low which is good :)

Or EK9 rails.

EK9 rails will fit! DC2's will need modifying and may not be 100% safe

Why wont they be safe? I use them for my EK9 recaros in my EJ9, they are perfect.

I only bolted it with 3 holes but can easily put that extra screw in but its secure with no movement, passed MOTs as well.

It is ment to be held with 4 holes.. Might seem safe now but in a crash I would rather my seat being held down with 4 so its held in all corners. I got dc2 rails and I welded on a piece and drilled it so it is held tightly down with 4 bolts

Its just the back 2 thats not screwed in, its held by 3 each side anyway, you pratically have to crash at huge speed for your seat to come out

Your life not mine. I know for 30mins work adding in a piece I would rather have 4 bolts holding it down as it is ment to be

If its not rocking at the moment, what possibility is there that the seat is going to undo itself around a metal rail and come off, pretty optomistic isnt it. They are very strong.

Your car came with 4 wheel nuts, 3 nuts would still hold your wheel on but its not safe.. That is just my opinion. Safety first cause ya mightnt get a second chance to do it right..

Anyway Phuongy you will need recaro rails.. Ek9 ones are a straight fit while dc2 ones will line up with 3 holes and a small bit off modification will fit and they will be lower than ek9 ones.. Sorry for all the spamming on your thread :(

The stress is distributed evenly accross the 4 screws on the rails in an accident. If you only use 3 screws it will put a lot more stress on those screws during an accident hence more of a chance the bolts will snap and your seat to come off the rails. There is a reason why they use 4 screws on the rails, you think that Honda spent thousands/millions on safety research for nothing?

It's much safer to use EK9 Rails for your EJ/EK than the DC2 rails. If you are doing to use DC2 Rails spend the extra, modifying them so it is secured down safely.

thanks for all ur opinions guys, much appreciated ^^ i shud get my recaros by next week =)

hello guys - I have a question - I want to buy recaro with EK9 passenger rail LHD and switch the rails (driver side) to install the seat for the driver side LHD - is it possible to switch the rails ?

maybe somebody have good photos to have clear view ?

£300 and you can have my recaros with rails :)

I'm looking for black ones and I found it but it's from passenger side LHD...
