Battery is fine for charge I think. I've been driving the car the past few days with no problems. Do you think I should jump it? I'm not sure about the starter? How will I check that?? Thanks.
A fiend said I should jump start it. If not it is the starter motor.
I bought the EK9 in April and have not even covered 800miles since getting it. Have been busy at work. At one point it wasn't used for 2 weeks and I didn't start the engine. Anything to do with it??
This is exactly what happens to mine if I don't drive it for a while. I still haven't got to the bottom of it and have changed the battery several times now. Do you have an alarm or immobiliser?
Have you checked the starter? Or your battery?
sounds very much like a lack of battery power problem. get some jump leads on it and try to start it. if it doesn't start then then start looking at your main earth straps. if it does then get your battery charged fully then check if it's faulty (most halfords now have a bosch battery tester to check for this so they can sort out warranty claims on their lifetime warranty batteries and their very helpful if theres a possibility of a sale
if everything there is ok check your alternators output if ok
check for battery drains i.e. electrical items that safety on when the ignition is switched off or consider if your regular use of it gives the car enough time running to charge the battery after startup. i.e. if your driving a couple of blocks away and turning it off it won't get time to charge the battery
Sounds like the battery akhi...
Battery
You got a halfords near you? if so drive down there they do free battery and alternator check, this exact same thing happened to me in my first civic which turned out to be the battery
I spoke to Dixon at DMS and he said it is the starter motor judging by the video. Then I told him I jumped started the car (car to car) today and the car turned over as normal. He said in that case it may just be a weak battery, as the car wouldn't turn over without the starter motor simply by jumping it. The only way it would start without need for starter motor, would be from a push start. Seems like a good place to start. Get a battery check?
