Ek9 insurance scheme with chris knott insurance

Raz
I think you would be OK because you are already an existing client with us.
Hi Tim,

Thanks for the reply. I assume that that once I have the EK9, I will have to phone you to let you know (thats the obvious part), and also have to pay extra on top of what i paid?

Yes, that's right. We can only insure you once you've told us.

just phoned these guys up and they now wont insure anybody under the age of 25!!!!

Yes, the insurers changed the terms yesterday. I'm trying to get round all the clubs to tell them!

The insurers have increased the minimum age to 25 for our insurance scheme due to a high claims loss ratio for performance vehicles driven by the under 25's. You also must have at least 1 year's NCB (unless you have NCB on a second car or a company car letter to state at least 1 year's claim free driving).

We understand that not everyone has claimed in this age category but the insurers are 'playing safe' for future business.

thats kool no worries i think im going to struggle to insure the car again as im one of those drivers whos had a claim made against them as i crashed mine in october :(

so what you are saying is there is no point in calling use unless you are 25 or over ???

Just a quick note to thank those of you who have tried the club insurance scheme.

In March, we have recorded our best ever week for club 'business' - nearly double that of our previous record set in February, which was remarkable in itself! I had to recheck the figures myself!

This is all due to the fact that people on sites like this have rung us & taken out policies. We must be doing something right!

Just to let you know our opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am till 5pm & Saturday morning, 9am till noon.

(Please don't forget to quote the club scheme reference number when you ring for a quote).

That is disgusting, talk about discrimination. I know many people who have had accidents but even though they pay EXCESSIVLY high insurance DON'T claim and pay for it off there own back.

I myself even at 24 can not afford to lose my no claims. The funny things is i'm FULLY COMP and i still wouldn't make a claim for risk of having even higher insurance costs.

Sky Insurance have been wicked i've been with them for coming up 3yrs i believe. Yes i still pay HIGH insurance but its a damn site cheaper than EVERYONE else...

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE INNOCENT UNTILL PROVEN GUILTY??? IF I HAVEN'T EVER MADE A CLAIM WHY SHOULD I BRUNT THE HIGH COSTS JUST CAUSE OF MY AGE? I'D GLADLY ACCEPT HIGH INSURANCE IF MY PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES PROVED THAT I HAD A HIGH ACCIDENT/CLAIM RATE.

We're not all bad drivers.... Just cause age dictates a higher risk.... :nono:

Rant over just makes me extremely angry knowing how much it costs, how much we're discriminated and how even though we have insurance we'll still prevent claiming in fear of losing the precious no claims. You guys have us over a barrell....

IT IS NO WONDER WHY WE HAVE SO MANY UNINSURED DRIVERS ON BRITAINS ROADS.

^^ good point. Alot of the insurers over in ireland are requiring a min age of 30 for alot of performance cars now which is crazy!

It's a pain for us too but the insurers need to make money to keep the scheme going.

They pay out £147 for every £100 they get in for this age category so it's not surprising they have made this decision, tbh.

Hot off the press!

In 2009 so far, we have saved our new customers a recorded average of £60 (£60.10 to be exact!) off their BEST quote, not just their renewal price, but their BEST quote!
In fact, so successful is the scheme that we have taken on additional staff & next week we have a meeting to look at taking on further personnel!

So, if your insurance is due in the next few weeks, please give us a call freephone on 0800 917 2274 (or 01580 752961 if calling by mobile) and don't forget to state the club reference number found either in my signature or in my introductory post when we first set up the scheme. Insurers find that club/forum users are better 'risks' statistically so make sure you mention the club!

Don't forget to check the criteria you must adhere to, e.g. age, etc.

One issue that has arisen is that a very small minority of people are saying we haven't called them back. Small minority or not, we want to speak to everyone who rings us.
I can assure you we call everyone back without fail!

The reasons we don't manage to speak to people is because either they have gone out, the wrong number has been taken down or, as has been said quite often recently, people don't answer numbers they don't know!

Our stats show that we only manage to contact 2 out of 10 people on average! It’s frustrating for us as well!

I would therefore ask that if for any reason you have had to leave your number that you PLEASE RING US BACK WITHIN 2 HOURS MAXIMUM IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING, or otherwise, please leave alternative numbers. (Mondays & Fridays are our most busiest however!).

(I covered for a colleague recently and was given a list of 4 people to ring back for a quote. None responded so, of the 4, I left messages on 2 answer phones, whilst 1 phone just rang & rang & the other was engaged consistently for hours. I checked a week later and at least 3 had not rung us back - I didn't have enough details to check the fourth).

Hi
Just to let you know that I'm away next week (20-24 July) & 24-28 August so if I'm a little tardy in replying, you'll know why!

Please continue to post your experiences on here. We've had a great year so far, taken on more staff - twice now (!) - and streamlined our system to cope better so it's good that we can help you!

One club actually complained that we had so much positive feedback/testimonials on our email, that it took them ages to open it!!!

When ringing for an insurance quote, please don't forget to quote the club name and/or reference number found either in my signature or in the original post of this thread.

You wouldn't change someone extra for being black, that would be racisum.

So why charge extra for ***, or age? Sexisum and Ageisum... Isn't that against the law?

With August being the second busiest month of the year, after March, I expect quite a few of you are coming up for your car insurance renewal.

Please feel free to give us a call when you receive your renewal papers through. I have collated a large list of excellent feedback from those who have already rung us so thank you for that.

Our average recording saving for our new customers in 2009 is £60.02 off their BEST quote so now you know why we have had to take on more staff!

The number is 0800 917 2274 or 01580 752961 if calling by mobile and PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO QUOTE THE CLUB NAME & REFERENCE NUMBER found in either my signature or my original post introducing the scheme!

Just got my renewal through from Sky, £691, i'm 26, 4yrs NCB, average postcode.

Think I'll be phoning Chris Knott on Monday!

IT'S WORTH RINGING US BECAUSE........

Well, after my post about August being the second busiest month of the year for car insurance renewals, we have in the last week recorded our BEST EVER income regarding providing insurance for forum users (and their families). That's in 26 years!

If your renewal is due in the next 21 days, please don't hesitate to give us a call on 0800 917 2274 or 01580 752961 if calling by mobile and PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO QUOTE THE CLUB NAME & REFERENCE NUMBER found in either my signature or my original post introducing the scheme!

Don't forget to check out the original thread stating minimum ages, etc, for the scheme.

Please don't forget to ring us if you have received your car insurance renewal through.

People insuring with us in the first 6 months of this year made an average recorded saving of £60.02 off their BEST quote.

In July, we had our 3rd best month ever in 26 years of trading.

Earlier this month, we recorded our best ever weekly figures from the forums.

We have taken on more staff to cope with demand.

This scheme has been set up for you as a community so we can provide the discounts on your other cars as well!

Please ring 0800 917 2274 or 01580 752961 if ringing by mobile, and don't forget to mention the club name/reference number.
