basically im looking at getting a ek9 ecu for my 1999 vti, will it work? will there be any benifts?

its only an idea

any comments welcome :)

thanks guyss

yehh it would work fine mate..im running obd2b ek9 ecu on b16a2...its just that u wont get 2 rev it to 9rpm unless u upgraded your cams

nope no gains, revs to 9200rpm approx..ma rev clock only goes to 8rpm lol

ow right ok, there not much point i guess then. do you mean it has raised ur rev limiter? wot does ur engine limit at? as in when does the limiter kick in

i put an ek9 ecu into my ek when it was bog standard and it was a waste of time and money. the car was noticably slower.

if u have ctr cam's and inlet mani it might help other wise i'd stay with ur ek4 ecu

Hi guys!

I have an ek4 civic. I rebuild my engine with:
Ek9 pistons
Ek9 cams
Supertech valves
EK9 valve springs
Hytech header
Skunk2 intake
P28 Tunned with ECTUNE

The problem is that the guy that tunes hondas can't do it or doesn't know how to tune mine correctly. So I was thinking of puting EK9 ecu on it so it would work normaly. I've read abut obd2a and obd2b ecu's. My original ecu is P2T-G01 and i think it's obd2a. If I buy an EK9 ecu, does have to be obd2a?

Thanks ;)

A lot of people say don't do it as it won't make a difference

I know. They say it for a stock ek4 engine. But I have a "home made" EK9 engine and nobody can tune it. They can but the guy who does it, does a sh** job. So I need a EK9 ecu, plug it in and ajust the timing and I'm done :D

Thanks I'll do my best. Now all I have to do, is find a prefacelift ECU. Or a facelift one and a OBD2b to OBD2a conversion harness.

Does anybody have one and is willing to ship it to Slovenia? :D

B16b and b16a2 are different and so is the fueling and ignition timing meaning swapping ecu will just make your car run crap and may possibly reduced its life cycle.

What's your zip code buddy should have a ek9 ecu lying around pm me your zip code so I can get a price on shipping

It's not a stock b16a2. Pistons are forged ek9, valves are supertech, valve springs ek9, cams ek9, intake skunk2, header hytech,... the engine puts ot 210hp. But it's running badly due to bad tuning. I don't care about the power output that much as i do for the engine. And the timing can be ajusted to spec. So I don't see the problem with that. It's basicly built ek9 engine. Right?

I doubt your putting out 210hp on a stock ECU.
Also an stock ek9 ECU isn't what you need, with the above spec you need it mapped correctly.

It's not a stock ECU. P28 tuned with ECTUNE. I wrote it all down in my previous posts... Go to the first page and scroll up ;) The guy who does the mapping here can't map it correctly. The car runs but it's running badly.
