Hi There,
I am after some information about the difference in calipers between 96-98 pre-facelift and 99-00 facelift, are the front calipers bigger?

My problem at the moment is that i am running EK9 rear calipers with EBC RED stuff pads.
I was running prelude front calipers with red stuff pads also but they were not working very well with the Tenzo-R 12" rotors so swapped them back too EK4 fronts.
This has now given the car a very bad breaking wobble at the back as they are not equal preasure.:angry2:

I want to get a set of ek9 calipers for the front now and want to know what the best year caliper too go for?
Also ''Sorry'' i was reading that the facelift EK9 were the same as DC2's correct?

I have been reading but the info is patchy in places.
Also i know some people dont like EBC and Tenzo but iv had them on the car for 2 years now and they work very well, the Red stuff anyway! :nice:

James.

ek9 are 282 calipers just like ukdm dc2 and 98 spec itr, lude, nsx and legend
if its unequal pressure maybe you need to change the prop valve?

pre and facelift should be same calipers, 282mm
ek4 are 262mm fronts

^ spot on
facelift, prefacelift k9 calipers are the same. only the 96 teg and the jdm teg calipers were different

Just to add to that, EK9 and 98 Spec JDM DC2 front calipers are the same. Im sure thats right.

wicked thanks for clearing that up, Iv changed the break servo over allready from the EK9 Alan.
Hi Ricky ''Babyface'' hows thing mate, would you say that the ITR caliper would be a better to go for? is it bigger?

James

so you got the 1" master servo and cylinder?
the pressure distribution is provdided by the brake prop valve, maybe you should try changing that, im going to be doing that on mine soon
there is a sticky on it, maybe that will help you?

and as stated in my previous post, ukdm and 98spec jdm ITR calipers are 282 same as all the other ones i listed above
hth

Hi Alen, yes iv changed the whole servo from an EK9 inc valve.
Thats cool so i will go get some DC2 ones if i can.
Thanks.
James.

Alan is right, ek9 and ukdm/jdm98teg calipers are exactly the same
im well, hope all is good

wobble at the back may be that the front brakes are "too good" compared to the rear.....

too many people overlook rear brakes, if you have some decent pads up front, match them with decent pads on the back

back when i had a fairly standard car i had some decent pads up front with oem pads on the back and the rear end got very wobbly under braking!!!

Hi Seven, yea posibly, EBC Greenstuff are for normall driving, Red stuff are race ready pads, and yellow is full race.
Iv got red at back with mgzs disks and green up front with Tenzo-R big 300mm disks.
So maybee?

Im not sure what to do at the moment. EBC do not make red stuff for the EK4 only green so i cant just change the pad over.
The ek9 front caliper will not work with the tenzo-r disks but they do red stuff for them.
If i had to change the disk for ebc disk they dont do one for the EK9 in 4 hole.

I used the MGZR 1.8 disks for the rear but the front ones are stightly thicker by 3mm and the hub is smaller.

Help!
James.

LOL yes thanks for bringhing that back up Olly,
The car is being re-set up when it gets tunined by TDi next month.
Iv just ordered red-stuff for the VTi calipers, they do them!!

Thanks,
James.
