Ek9 #66 from Japan!

thank you everyone, i will post more pictures and all the details in another thread. yes i have pics of her with the rega's. like i said i will keep it with me for as long as i can. i really don't want to use it as a track car only, it would be a shame not using it daily, but for me to import it back to the States as a daily driver it needs to be at least 25 years or older or pay a absurd fee and taxes of 150% the value of the car; so i think my best option is to keep it and use it as a track car only so i don't have to pay import fees and taxes.
I'm still doing my research about this, if you have any more infos regarding the import process to the States i'm all ears... :p

Cant you fake a document where it says the value of the car is 500$? Then you have to pay 1500$. That would be ok in my opinion.

^^ from what I have heard its pretty much impossible to import anything that does not fall under the 25 year rule, california seems to be especially strict on this

chances are high that the car will be seized at customs and sent back or crushed

in canada the rule is 15 years, if you have a friend there you could register it under his name and drive it in the states

Jesus, that's ridiculous amount.. Just say your EK9 is valued at $10 haha! Well it's a lovely 9 and I hope it stays with you wherever you're off to haha

couldn't you import it as a race car then just stick the plates off of a existing ek4 on it?
Dunx

Gorgeous car man!! :nice: Bit of a shitter with the laws in the states though!! :(

Nice car.

I met lot of people from the states here in Belgium who came from Japan with their cars.

Come in Belgium after Japan, we could go to the nurburgring :D
