EG6 pure track toy joy!

Ive been chipping away at bits when I can but only small things really. However this weekend I got a few easy jobs out of the way which have changed the look of the car slightly!

So Ive had a fiberglass bonnet and boot laying around forever, they aren't in great condition but hey I got them cheap, and now that I have checked the fit and fitted the bonnet pins etc I can clean them up and paint them properly. These should have saved me another 10KG all together if not more considering I have also now removed the standard bonnet and boot catches and cabling.

I also fitted my R888's Ive had since last year, I love the 'balloon' spec tyre look it has given the car, although I do need to lower it a touch I reckon. I am running a staggered set up, 225 wide up front and 195's in the rear. I managed to have a little play and all I can say so far is - AWESOME.

Ive sent away my S80 KAAZ LSD'd box to be looked at with TGM as it's still not right. Hopefully it will be sorted before next weekend and I can get that on too.

Finally I've started to make a headlight duct using a set of JDM plastic lense headlights which will directly feed the air filter. I also plan to make an airbox around the filter itself.

So currently I would say the car is about 95% complete! Not a lot left to do now, although there is rust starting to bubble up under the rear quarter arches. I'm going to investigate further over the winter and see whether it will be worth repairing or finding a rust free shell (if any exist any more??)

So pics!

Haha I do like the BGW's I must say, although I don't think the car would be fast enough to warrant one!

Although a front diffuser is on the cards, and a better rear diffuser which completely isolates the rear bumper from acting like a parachute!

Corse it's fast enough. The APR one I'm pretty sure you only need to be going 80mph before it produces 100kg down force. Or the other way around. Either way y'all easily go that fast. Especially with the lack of weight in the rear of yours. Engine in the front and a front splitter would leave the back very light ;). How effective is the rear diffuser you have

Hmm, this is true, will have to look into it! :)

I doubt the one currently on there is doing much at all to be honest, but I like the idea of streamlining, essentially flat bottoming the car for some drag free downforce ;)

yeah flat floor would make the front diffuser and rear diffuser more effective :)

Hi mate,

How did you fixed you door windows? I have those windows in my eg9 but they "jump" off at about 120mph :/

Can you help me with this?

Cheers

Basically, you bond the f*ck out of them! :))

All the way round, going to be a nightmare if I ever have to take them out.

Hondabond?? :drive: :p

I used Sikaflex, I may add a few rivets to the rear quarters, see how they go.

like this project with the lexan windows, the cage and the white colour inside!

Slow updates, still waiting on a place to work on the car!

But with the afternoon free and the decent weather I was itching to get something done! So I pulled this lot out;

Kept the heater matrix in there for now until I can buy one of the lightweight electric heater units come pay day :)

Hopefully I can also get the Odyssey battery mounted in the spare wheel well and wired in this weekend, but if I'm doing that I might as well wire in the kill switch too so we'll see how it goes as I'm working in a dirty car park it's not fun. I've been spoiled with being able to use my old works garages!

Not long until I move into my new place which has a double length garage, can not wait :D

That's a lot of plastic removed there! Must weigh a reasonable amount

Yeh, according to weight saving guide's for the EG chassis this lot weighs 8.26 Kg's, including the matrix when that goes.

The lightweight unit that will go in weighs 1.1 Kg's so saved around 7.1Kgs all together :)

I need to get the car on a weigh bridge as there can't be much left that I can pull out!

Got a link to the light weight heater youa re talking about as I have removed my matrix also. Cheers
