EG6 pure track toy joy!

great thread mate, really need to get the inside of my starlet properly done but i cba with it its such a big job done the rear before and it turned out great but its messy, dust everywehre from sanding, how did u get all the dust out ? last time i just hoovered it them wiped it down

Yep that's pretty much what I did Pal, just a good load of elbow grease!

A lot of goodies piling up for this at home right now, watch this space!

Thanks guys, can't wait to get home and crack on with the build - Got a MOUNTAIN of parts to go on! Just a few parts that I can think of off the top of my head;

15 point FIA spec safety devices cage
Perspex window kit
Fiberglass bonnet/boot
96 Spec S80 with 4.7 FD and KAAZ LSD
Racetech Gauges
Thermo Oil cooler set up
The list goes on :)

A little undecided at the moment on which way to go with the look of the car,

Either Tactical Art style with a half rear bumper and crazy diffusers and rear wing on a set of wide 15's

Or

Get a set of juicy tyres, 225/50's with a nice high sidewall and pretty much keep it as is, albeit with a front diffuser. Sort of Kanjo Racer style?

What do you guys think?

I think the second option would be best, not keen on big wings unless packing big power,

225/50's may be to bulbous and ruin the handling unless your running 7.5-8j rims

205/50 would still give a big enough sidewall for the kanjo look on a 6.5 or 7j rim

Just my opinion though

Yeh sounds good man. Don't want to be all show and no go! ;)

What about a 215/50 up front and a 195/55 in the rear? Pretty much the same overall diameter. Both would be going onto a 15x7 rim.

I already have a set of 205/50 R1R's. Not fitted yet but they just don't quite have enough sidewall for me.

My mate is running 225/50/16's on his EP3 and they look and handle great!

Long time no update!

Problem is Ive moved jobs and no longer have a place to work on my car. Currently looking for a workshop to rent!

Alas I was seriously suffering from spannering withdrawal, I had to do something!

Ive had a 96 Spec S80 with a KAAZ Lsd and 4.78 FD with a broken casing sat around for a while now so decided this was something I could sort out.

I managed to pick up a brand new casing off ebay that I could swap all the S80's guts into!

Was a fairly straight forward job, a few hiccups mainly due to me not reading things properly.

Only issue I have is a pair of bolts don't and they're fairly important, see here;

Got a few bits I can do at home without the car. Got a posh manifold to heat wrap and a headlight duct to make out of an old plastic lensed headlight. Gonna start that tomorrow I think!

Got an opportunity to crack on with the car this week so Ive taken it! Really need to start hacking away at this looonng jobs list!

So getting the big jobs out of the way starting with the cage, hopefully have that completed today and will have pics up tonight :D
