Excellent build up mate!! Top work!
It's funny, me and you seem VERY VERY alike in so many ways its frightening, seriously!
Both seem to want to be absolute perfectionists with our builds and such and virtually some sort of disorder to want everything as clean as possible to start with. Things are so much easier to work on when their spotlessly clean and free of rust/grime!
The only difference is your going for a show type EG I assume and mine is race/kano/N1 type so there's no need as such for arch cutting and that as it'll be rough any way if you see what I mean and covered in decals? But cared for at the same time, its a very fine balance!
What I am doing is I'm oxide blasting the underside of my EG myself and doing a few different stages of coatings underneath to finish up with Waxoyl and Waxoyling all the chassis rails inside. Should protect it immensely.
We're also the same with the powdercoating fetish. I'm exactly the same as people will see in my build very shortly.
We are different in the sense of the wild colour schemes, although I love yours, I'm more under tone and OEM colours but where you have gone for black powdercoat on most of your suspension and chassis parts I have an alternative plan for mine! To stick with the JTCC/N1 race type factory scheme/setup
Hopefully my parts will be going for coating any time now in the next few weeks before Christmas I'm hoping!!
Would love to share ideas and chat dude, as we are definitely very similar in our ways!
Hey mate!
Its nice to see there are others out there willing to go to such lengths with a build! I believe you have to give 100% in something you are trying to achieve otherwise you will never be happy with the end product! If the issue of money comes into it then simply just take longer lol!
As for what i am going for, I want to have a super clean car with the looks of something which could be put in for ''Best in show'' etc but at the same time underneath have the right parts to make it handle and drive like a track/race car.
Its funny im working on the underneath of my car at the moment aswell, There is very little wrong with it considering the age of the car, I am using a wire wheel on a drill to remove any surface rust and its doing the trick, coming back up to bare metal! Obviously then i will be doing the same as you, Building up layers of paint and rust protection etc, And same with the sills plug the holes up and inject waxoyl into them then drain out the excess.
Do you currently have a build up? Or are you going to be starting one soon, I will deffo be keeping an eye on your progress!
