Your stating the price of the car in FOB terms (Freight on Board).
The FOB costs include - the price of the car to buy from that dealer! Their agency fees, and de-registration fees to make the car available for export. Also the transport of that car to the nearest port from its actual location in Japan.
Then you need to add price of shipping (700-800)
Once you add the total of FOB + shipping, once it arrives in you need to take account of 10% euro tax and 21% vat of that total and add them to original fee. Dont forget if you cant sort out the documentation you would need to pay an import agent to clear the papers and get it sorted at docks. Then transport the car to your location in UK. If you lived in Ireland after all these charges were paid you would then need to also pay VRT (Vehicle Reg Tax) on top of all of the above. Dont forget the prices need to be paid in JPY so the bank transfers will work out more expensive and you must cover fees on both sides, that would be the norm in the terms and conditions with most dealers.
So for the black one you would be talking roughly 13.5-14k GBP again its arrived cleared at your door (even more in Ireland).

I think the price is so high because they know someone will pay that much for the car, think about it, not all Honda enthusiasts are broke Whoever buys the black one is getting something really special which he probably won't drive but the same can't be said for the red or silver one, they may look the **** but are still high mileage and buying an EF9 from the uk in the same condition will work out a lot cheaper
