I've just got a couple of questions I'm hoping you guys can shine some light on.

1). Can an SIR engine run properly on a VTi or Type R ECU?

and

2). Are the engine mounts on an SIR the same as those on a VTi?

Help is greatly appreciated.

hey bro, i have a B16A5 motor in my SiR with P2T ecu that i am running with an Apexi PowerFC made for the B16B. so the Honda PCT ecu should work fine too imho. also i read that there are both obd2a and obd2b for the PCT ecu...so u need to know which kind of ecu u currently have before getting the PCT ecu. However, the VTEC crossover points are different

I have the SIR motor running on a VTi ECU at the moment and it seems to be running fine... I basically wanted to know if it was ok to continue running this set-up or would I be best running an SIR ECU for optimum performance... I think I'll look into getting the SIR ECU anyway...

the car will run fine with the v.t.i ecu as its the same engine just a different ecu the v.t.i has less power as its mapped for english fuel and an sir was mapped for jap fuel which is higher octane hence more power. but there is no difference in a jap b16a and an english b16a.

also if you put a b16b head on your b16a block your car will run perfect with a type R ecu and you will have type R power.
