Very nice mate.

How much do SPG's weigh? seem quite popular on here! I was shocked how much the standard recaros weigh when i took mine out!

Fitted my ultra racing rear strut yesterday and spoon ECU last week, love them both! such noticiable differences. Have got new discs / pads / lines and rbf600 all to do before 'ring too ! :D

Recaro SPG's are 6.5kg

Ideal mate, good to get a heads up on those parts :D

Nice work Tim!!! Keep it coming!

Cheers matey... not really done any work yet... just unpacking boxes... LOL

Well before I start I gotta say is that the Spoon ECU is on of "THE" best mods I've fitted in a long time.... Just WOW :bow::bow:

Anyway had a bit of time today so got that that fitted plus did some prep for the ring and my rear half cage that hopefully arrives tomorrow. :secret:

All the bits out leaving some nice grime and gunk - out comes the degreaser and polisher...

All done plus my rear brace fitted (only had a quick test drive - feels much improved at the rear!!)

Sweet dude! You haven't done your allignment yet have you? If your stripping weight and putting a cage in you need to do allignment after!

Already booked for the 20th, cheers for the heads up though mate.

Thanks mate, the easiest way to explain the noise is the same as MFB but quieter if that makes sense?

The lights were done with a Meguiars Dual Action Polisher - Cutting Pad and Cutting compound:

If your doing it by hand then you can't beat Autosol though, couple of passes with that and then a pass with standard polish (like Autoglym SRP) and finally maybe a coat of your favourite wax to seal it all in. :)

can you use this method for the tailights as well??? :wow:

i want my ECU back :(

Cars looking good man!

Thanks mate, still so much more to do...

Drove into work with it this morning... had the biggest grin on my face. :))

TBH I was getting a little bit negative about the car recently and now that's all changed :wow:

awesome mods
where did you end up getting your spgs from? mind pm'ing me cost?

Cage arrived on thursday... after talking to various people I decided to go for a Safety Devices rear half cage with added harness bars. Comes with pre-cut & drilled plates that need to be welded in to strengthen the bolt in points.

Had the option of having it without the front cage attachment points but decided to keep them in case I wanted to add one.

Getting fitted today if all goes to plan... pics later on. :nice:

Got them as a return as the person who bought them wanted XL sized ones... doubt I'd be able to get em at that price again in as new condition.

Well after a very long day yesterday and a massive effort from two of my mates the cage is now in:

It's a very snug fit :naughty:

Also fitted the brakes, pads & hoses... not really had a chance to try them out yet though as I don't have a seat belt/harness yet...

Coming along very nicely ;)

Thanks mate, nice to see your still about :woot:

Had a look at your 7 the other day... looks mental dude

Thanks mate... there was a lot of head scratching. They don't foul on anything throughout the steering range the way we've fitted them so I'm happy :))

Couple of piccies of the welded & painted strengthening plates:
