Do all EK9 mirrors fold?

i bought an EK9 3 weeks ago and the mirrors dont fold in when i turn off the ignition :( are they just broken?or were electronic folding mirrors only on EK9's made in a certain year? mines a 1997 Ek9 P reg
 
It's only the RX that has electric folding mirrors and you still have to push a button.
 
My EK9 isnt an RX and it has folding mirros.. the buttons on the wing-mirror controls. :nice:

interesting. I have power folding w/ buttom but there are some manual ones as well.
 
there isnt a button on my wing mirror controls to make the mirrors fold in :( i always thought they folded automatically when the ignition was switched off, im confused now
 
No they dont fold automatically when you turn the ignition off but they should fold with the button!!!!
 
can someone please tell me where the button is or take a picture,i wud be very gratefull if so :)
 
does anyone know how you can change this - so it works like the RX version?

All light weight ek9's with wind up windows didnt have electric retractable mirrors. All others had this as standard.

i have the light weight version (or whatever its called) wind up windows....no airbags and no electric folding mirrors :) less things to go wrong.

just walk around the car and push them in if you want them folded.lol
 
ahhh thats why they dont fold,iv got the lightweight version,cheers guys :) does any1 know the weight difference between the lightweight and other version of the EK9?
 
I want to make my mirrors electric folding but i haven`t understood if it`s possible to turn my normal mirrors into electrical folding only by getting the switch and the relay? I mean there has to be a servo-mechanism inside the mirrors to move them. The ones i have are electrically adjusting the mirror position alone. Do i ahve to get another pair of mirrors as well?

yes...i believe the non folding mirrors are completely different to the folding type
