Dc5 vs s2k what's your best one of the two and why?

Agree with Topher... get a dc2 and whack a k20 or even F20 in for the ultimate machine hah.

Depends which spec you get Logan.
3.5k is more 96spec like mines, 4-5k will be 98spec

For a fwd the dc5 is a great all round sports car.

But you cannot beat the FR layout. Especially with a tort well balance chassis.

For me on many levels its got to be the s2000.

im sure 0 to 60 would be about the same both stock

dc5 is lighter at 1180kg

s2k is 1286kg

Can't really argue about which is faster round a track, Tsukuba times are ther in black and white.

Its not all about 0-60 n lap times its how it feels on the road and what you want out of it

Still gota be a dc5 though

^ I agree.
Does depend what the vs is about.
But seen as this is more of a track focused forum with more track focused cars I took it as a flat out who's the fastest vs.

I thought the s2k was heavier, 100 odd kilos will make a difference in performance, I see the times but were they set with the same driver and same kind of setup?

0-60 times are a load of bollocks, like I read the 0-60 time on a ek9 was 5.9 which I doubt very much. Best way to do the test is get both in a drag race I.e Santa pod and see what the time difference is. I reakon it would be fraction of a second either way. Defenatly not even a second in it.

I'm still going with the dc5 hands down.

Those are stock times round Tsukuba.
When your talking professional drivers they can all take a car to its limit so you can't pin 1.6sec on the drivers themselves.

The 5.9secs 0-60 time is for the stripped out race model of the EK9 i think. Standard EK9 is 6.7? but anyway it ain't even about all these times, it's all about how the car as a whole works together.

I've had a little spin in a DC5 and I had to say the LSD is pretty strong, smooth and comfortable but really lacked the raw racing feel that the EK9 has. S2k I've not had a go in but I was considering getting one before I got my EK9.

You need to drive an s2k. It's as if the whole car is turning around you when you corner. Maybe it's because you sit closer to the rear wheels?

really not wanting to be selling my s2k this saturday, it looks so hot just parked up at the top of my drive lol

ive not driven a dc5 but my mate who sold me the s2k said the s2k is more fun than the dc5 which he owned before buying the s2k

gotta say vtec and 9000 rpm with the roof down is a very spine tingling experience, and you also feel like a right whoring poser when you do it lol!

one thing is for sure, the s2000 has the best drive layout and better weight distribution over the dc5

Very true. I'll bet they can pretty much match each other times. Especially when talking road cars i should think they can all drive them on the absolute limit with ease, showing the times are literally what the car can do and not the driver.

Anyway, Carry on. :)

:jackson:

dc5 all the way mate mate more rare s2k you prob see 2 or more a day dc5 1 in like 1 month

Lol. How did you work that out, a. Uk car vs jdm import car

Must be area wise, but I definately see more DC5s here, also go to a car show, guranteed to see more DC5s.

Not saying S2K is like gold dust but just what I have seen.
