So after breaking my ek4 last year iv gotten the itch to build something for the track. Picked up a super clean 96 spec dc2 shell a few weeks ago which was only imported last october and never been registered here.
The guy i bought this off wanted to keep the bonnet but he happend to have a carbon bonnet cheap so i picked that up too.
I still have a couple sets of 5 stud wheels since my ek4 was 5 stud so i picked up ek9 hubs as i had to buy hubs anyway. Hoping to upgrade the front to 300mm disc before i get this out.
Also have a set of Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 on the way too
So the natural thing to do with a dc2 when it comes to what engine would be a b18c but i bought a b16a2 and 96spec b18c head pretty cheap so i went with that for now. Realistically in the future i want to do hillclimbs / sprints or something competitive with this so 1600 makes sense as 1800 would put me in a 2L class for basically everything!
I sold the 96 spec cams and oem dual valve springs out of the engine and picked up a set of supertech springs and some b16b cams.
As the head was open i decided to pull it off and give it freshen up. Very glad i did this as i discovered there is PCT b16b pistons in it
