Guys I'v been offered a evo 4 gunmetal grey completely stock, imported 2009 swap for my 96 spec dc2??
I'm in 2 minds... Any opinions??

Been hearing stories, EVO will drain u out eventually, regards to maintenance, possible reliablity issues that could come up and fuel isn't nice either.

I would keep the DC2 personally.

After owning 2, I would say the evo for a change. Great cars with decent power for standard and can easily be taken to 350bhp, they have 4wd and 4 doors with is handy compared to the Hondas, i sold the evo to buy another honda because i missed the vtec and driving style of the honda, but now I'd like another evo again... :))

seen them for around 3k

tbh i wouldnt touch an evo, i was going to buy an evo 6 and decided to join up on the lancer forum and then saw a thread in there about members evos getting stolen

there was about 70 members who had their cars stolen and there were comments on there with things like "parents badly beaten for keys" etc etc, at the time i just became a dad so i didnt want any of that grief

i have 2 friends who have owned evos, they are just bad news pal

Thanks for the reply guys guess should just keep the dc2 go turbo or k24 ;)

I was going to swop my old 9 for a evo 4 plus cash my way, i had huge doubts anyway so i went to look at it, omg the thing was a wreck rusty as hell underneath, then to top that off it had a slight engine knock. Put me off totally. Tbh for the money i dont think you will find a better car for power, reliabilty then a honda. Who need boost ect, the fun is going stupid speeds in a corner with 100 percent relibility what the honda offers. Stick to what you know fella or you might regret it, espcially if you have to re morgage to pay for the evo's high repair bills, running cost ect

keep the teg, evos are money pits, mitsubishi want fortunes for parts that arent for evos never mind for them, plus iv heard of far to many evo 4s throwing rods, blowing engines, i think if im right the engines in the 4 were basically like chocolate in a furnace lol

would avoid an evo 4, but id love to get a evo6 or 8/9. Great fun. Yes they cost a lot to fix if you break something but that just goes with the territory. Also they tend to use as much fuel sitting still as they do on wot! lol. Best bet is try and get a drive in one.

The 4's suffer from crank walk iirc, which is why many have 6/7/8 engines etc. keep your dc2!

Theres grey 4 that was for sale in ni for months at 2600 alot harder to sell on than a teg
