dc tein suspension on my 96 ek hatch

if you mean dc you mean intergra i no that the DC2's are eye type and ek's are fork so no.

yea its suspension from a dc2..everyone says that the only thing i have to do is add washers in the back forks

From what I was told you can use DC2/EG civic LCA's you can fir them?? not sure how true this is?

anything can fit after alot of effort! ;)

just buy ek suspension ??

well the lcas on eks are longer than eg/dc lcas
and i know i was just trying to see if it fit cause i have a set and wanted to put it on lol

it doesnt really matter about lenght when the strut wont fit as one is eyelet and one is fork type fitment :p

depends of what dc it came off of ... i know the ITR have the eyelit that they are talking about but the regular dc came with fork struts like the eg ek ef and all that ... so depending on which dc struts you have its a yes or no answer and if it is the fork type then yes all you need is some washers on each side ..

does suspension off of a dc fit a 96 ek hatch? tein super street suspension
i will not fit because the rear lower control arms on ek's are longer than dc2's the only way is to buy aftermarket rear lower control arms like the one's RVM mention above.

i know that dc2's fit on the back cuz this chick at my school had them on the rear of her ek4, which she just recently wrecked. i believe that the lca's fit but dont quote me on that one. and you may have to add washers but i dont think she did, and she didnt have the stock dc2 sups.

Usdm's integras (not concluding type r ) they come with regular lower control arms but Still dont fit because like i say ek's control arms are longer. But what you are talking about is shock assembly or coilover suspension.
If you put integra shocks on ek you will have to put spacer's or washers to fill the gap on the control arm due to the fact that ek's control arm is thiner.

I think some people are still alittle lost .. The DC2 , EF , EG , DA all have shorter Lower control arms than the EJ/EK ... So to answer this question NO the "LOWER CONTROL ARMS" will NOT FIT ...

MOVING ON...

The struts of an INTEGRA TYPE R .. Have EYE-TYPE lower control arms .. Therefore you cannot use those struts unless you have those lcas that RVM mentioned..

MOVING ON ...

Any STRUT with the FORK at the end FROM A DC, DA, EG, EF, EK, EJ will fit the EK/EJ ....

MOVING ON ....

If the strut comes from a DC DA EG EF then the forks will be wide BECAUSE THE lower control arms of the DA EF DC EG are all wider then EJ EK ...
... In this case you will need washers to fill the slack ..

NEXT :
The REAR trailing arms of all of these vehicles are interchangeable ... HOWEVER .. If you have a EJ EK ... And you want rear disk brakes Then you will WANT the RTA from an EK9 or CIVIC SI because the emergency brake CABLES are longer then the integras .. ... (Not sure if the VTI EKS have stock rear disk brakes .. Someone please confirm this ...)IF you can only get your hands on integra RTA this is ok too they will still work you MAY or MAY not have to make brackets for the cables because the holes won't match up .. I currently have DC RTA and they work fine ..

And just to point something out, Tein doesn't make Lower control arms. SO Obviously the original poster was talking about struts springs ... Sorry if I'm coming off rude lol but I'm pretty sure this will answer everyones questions .. And if anyone still have questions pm me. ...

also for you guys posting make sure your using search and be specific with your questions:please: our MOD's are making stickies and rules for a reason :thanks:

..suspension ranges from all the elements i have covered and then some , camber, toe, etc. etc.

again im not trying to be rude but i really like this forum and its one of the FEW that are actually organized and most of the people on here are knowledgable or curious which is good .. unlike honta-tech.. that forum just makes me
everyone things they know EVERYTHING ..

and sorry if im offending anyone....

Good info jdmkiddd
Please inform me to fit rear EG civic shock absorbers to EK what dimension washers I will need?

Yes all the EUDM vti (b16a1-2-3) have rear discs ef, eg, ek and del sol
Also EUDM EG civic with D16Z6 engine used to have rear discs ( some with abs some without)

im not exactly sure the size of the washer you need as i bought my tokicos new and they came with washers .. i can take some pics tomorrow for you as i will be working on my friends car an also my own ..im pretty sure any washers will do just use enough to fill the space its about 4mm-5mm dont worry i will take pics for you in the morning ...

It will be a great help:thanks:
What is the feedback of tokicos, they give soft or firm ride and how about handling-grip?

and the tokicos are great .. these are actually my second set .. i used to have the HP series .. and i loved those and i decided to upgrade to the illuminas. there are 5 settings 1 being super soft ..and 5 being super stiff .. at setting 1 its almost softer the stock dampers .. and at 5 they are really stiff..sometimes when i hit some little bumps i feel like im riding on coilovers . lol ...i currently have the front set to 4 and rear is set to 3 .. car rides well .. im also on tein s tech springs so the car is a bit lower . handling is amazing .. the response from the damping is incredible . never thought they could make such a difference .. every turn is crisp .. not much movement when they are set high .. i did some test runs one night at all settings ..

i did 2 runs in each setting .. 1st was on flat surface 2nd was over a couple of speed bumps @ 10-ish mph

f1, r1
-it was super soft , when shifting there was alot of body roll and it didnt feel like the power was completely getting to the wheels .
-over the speed bumps it absorbed most of the bump very comfortable however at higher speed could possible bottom out ..

f2,r2
-you could feel the difference and how it was a little stiffer however when shifting, there was still too much body movement
-over the speed bumps it was still comfortable and less risk of bottoming out

f3 r3
-body movement when shifting improved greatly however the front felt a bit softer then the rear
- over speed bumps the front still absorbed most of bump but still had alittle cushion

f4 r4
-body was stiff when shifting you could feel more of the road then body roll. car performed great
- when going over speed bumps the front absorbs some of the bump but alot less cushion .. also alittle less comfortable and the rear felt to stiff for the bumps.. a bit stiffer then the front

f5 r5
- car was super stiff when shifting you rarely feel body roll .. weight is transferred well and car performs even better and youll feel most of the road
-when going over speed bumps its entirely too stiff front hits kind of hard and the rear is even harder almost feels like riding on coilovers.

so i found that i liked the front set to 4 because it was more comfortable than the 5th setting but also transferred weight at an acceptable rate plus i used to have speed bumps all over my neighbor hood .. so i am trying to preserve my suspension lol .. the rear i decided to go with 3.. i choose 3 because with there being less weight in the rear the suspension didnt have much to dampen.. overall i really like the setup and i love the shocks..

with the current settings i have, taking turns is effortless .. the suspension responds quick not much body roll however if i do some track days i can see myself stiffening the setup .. hope this helps to all

Thank you for the help. Great photos, very helpful!
It seems I have to buy some washers for installing my shocks
I see that tokicos are great shocks, I will have them in my mind for buying them in the future
