D14A4 to D16Z6 help?

Did as much research as I can online but still got a few niggles in the back of my mind seeing as Friday is the prospective swap date.

I'm prepared for this swap, yeah? Here's the part list.

D16Z6 engine.
OBD1 - OBD2A conversion harness.
P28 socketed and chipped ECU.
S20 'box.
D16 driveshafts. (Sure they're a fit too.)

I'm now 99% sure I'm ready but I happened to stumble upon a thread saying there's some hacking to be done to the loom.. and that you need an old D16 loom? Anyone know if this is right enough?

Also, nobody seems to have covered whether the D14 exhaust manifold will fit the D16?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, don't want to get this started on Friday and find out there's bits missing.

I think you will need to use an extra wire from ECU to engine for engaging VTEC.

But, looking at B16 prices in the UK, can you really not afford to spent a couple of 100 extra? I have had both D16Z6 and B16A and while the D16Z6 is a very nice engine for what it is, it's nowhere near the B16A in terms of acceleration (especially above 60mph), noise and fun.

Ah right, I'll just have to hope not tbh.. Haha.

Well the idea was to get boost, and a boosted D16 will seemingly have a little more torque, and with the steel internals can handle the pressure a little more.

d16 for boost, I am not so sure how much and how long it could hold, with stock internals, due to being an oversized d13 (r/s ratio).
D14a4 is not a straight obd2a, if you had the d14z4 it would be easier. When saying d16z6 i hope you mean everything (along with intake manifold, dizzy etc). It's not a straight swap due to differences in the engine's loom. I think you had better get a d16y or d15z6 loom.

I am not really thát known with boost in the Honda world but the B18C4 costs roughly the same as a B16A but does have an LSD box and slightly longer gear ratio's which fit boosted engine very well.

I have had a D16Z6 and they're known to be using a lot of oil. If you want to stay D-series, I believe the D15 is stronger. But again, not too sure as I'm not thát knowledgable in the Honda boost world.
