D14 mini me VTEC conversion

Hi guys, I've recently been looking into this and was wondering if anyone in here has attempted it or know anyone that has carried it out? Just want to know if its worth doing, what the gains are like and if its worth the hassle as I'm wanting to try it myself. Any insight into it would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
 
Doubt its worth spending the money on, for what you could pick up a d16 for these days unless you want to keep it 1400cc for insurance reasons in which case you would have to tell them anyway.
 
Would it be classed as a 1.6 just because of the head? I haven't actually thought about it in this perspective....
 
No. But what I understand from the board you are practically uninsured in the UK if you don't tell your insurance about those mods. And then you probably might as well put a D16 in there, which is more powerfull than a D14 with mini-me.
 
Well the reason I was considering it was because I was after a bit more power. I've thought about doing this, doing an engine conversion or just altogether going for another car. Preferrably an EK4 or EK9 or possibly a coupe or EG. Not fond of EPs and Integras and Accords would not give me much chance at getting insured lol.

I've checked Dodo Upgrades before, thats where I came across the idea for the whole mini-me set up.
 
Have a few mates running the mini me conversion! It does make a difference for sure. Ul notice it straight away, d14 struggle with power bt with the mini me it in my eyes pulls better than a d15 vtec.. Id go for it as its not expensive to do and its quite easy to do!

Thanks mate. I have been considering it as financially its probably my best option tbh coz rather than go B series and, get an engine and get the conversion done, I'd rather buy a vti or something. Best get looking for a D16 head then :D
