Hi guys, during the process of trying to remove my CV joint in order to change the boot, the driveshaft seems to have popped out but not out fully ( I think the boot on the other end is still holding it in place). I couldn't push it back in the way it came out but I was wondering if its easy enough to do if I remove the whole thing and then re-insert it? I'm a complete novice at these things, I'm only upto scratch on the theoretical side of things so help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

yes if it just popped out from you pulling on it too hard you can take off the boot and press it back in but you should also reboot it. keep in mind if it popped out because it was old and on its way out it would be best to just get a new cv joint/axle. good luck.

Thanks for the input. Managed to sort it out and got both boots changed and packed with new grease. Them bearings on the inner joint were quite awkward.
