It saddens me to say but im having to put my pride and joy up for sale after owning the car for 6months. In that 6months i have spent over £1000 on it. I am the 2nd uk private owner. I have loved this car since day one and still love driving the car to this day.

I am selling the car due to money problems, i'm needing to free up a bit of cash :((

The car is a - 2000 Championship White Honda Civic 1.6 16v Type Rx EK9 Facelift Model

Modifications-

Spoon ECU (9498RPM)
Spoon 4-2
Spoon 2-1
Dc Sports De-Cat
Spoon B Pipe
Spoon N1 Back box
AEM V2
Magnecor HT leads
C Pillar Bar
Genuine Spoon Engine Damper (Brand New)
AP Dixcel Front and Rear Brake Disc's (Brand New)
Endless SSS Brake Front and Rear Pads (Brand New)
Goodridge Braided Brake Lines
Phillips X-Treme +80% Headlamp Bulbs (Brand New)

Exterior-

The car is pretty much standard on the outside, the paint is in execllent condition unlike most imports, The previous owner cleand cars for a living and has worked the paintwork to a very high standard. I clean the car at every oportunity i get.

The car has had brand new genuine headlights from honda as the old ones where marked. I have the receipt for this.

The bonnet could do with a respray as there is various stone chips on it and also the wheels could do with a refurb.

Interior-

The interior is in excellent condition as are the Recaro's, the Type Rx comes with Carbon dash section, double din head unit section, JDM flair and Alloy pedal set.

Engine-

The engine is brillant, the previous owner had it maintained at Performance Tek in glasgow, The timing belt was done 12 months ago and oil changes every 3 thousand miles. The gearbox is perfect with No Crunches what so ever! The car is always run on Shell V-Power 99. The car has just been serviced with a HAMP Oil filter with Silkolene Pro S engine oil and also Genuine Honda Iridium Spark Plugs fitted

With the modifications the car has it is very responsive and drives very well. I have a dyno print out from Dastek showing a very good power curve at 198.9 BHP

Chassis-

The car will come with Standard suspension which is an excellent set-up for the road. The ek9 has extra body bracing and thicker ARB's

The ek9 has 282 brakes up front and 262 at the rear.
Brand new AP Dixcel disc's have been fitted front and rear with Endless SSS brake pads front and rear. They have covered less than 1000miles

The tyres on the car are mint. 5mm on the Yoko's on the Front and 2 Brand New Yokoham Prada Spec tyres on the rear.

Security-

The car has a Clifford intelliguard 950. I have all the relevent insurance approved paperwork to support this. Fantastic alarm.

I have a folder full of recipets and paperwork to relate to the car.

The MOT on the car runs out Dec 08 and it will be taxed till Jan 9

I still have the relevant Import paperwork that I got with the car. The car was a grade 4 when it came to the uk and i still have the auction report to go with the car.

Pictures off the car can be found here

Any questions feel free to ask me. If phone number wanted please PM me for it. Also my e-mail address is stuart_king6@hotmail.co.uk

I am very reluctant to sell the car but these things happen. I am looking for
£8800 ovno

Thats an amazing EK9. Looks lush and has some very good mods.

IMO - Prices for EK9's are too high currently. Youre asking for nearly £9k for an 8 year old car! I know theyre sought after but still...

I hope you do get good money for it but personally i just couldnt part with that amount of money.

Also, id be careful about what you say with regards to the JDM flare. You do realise they are classed as an offensive weapon in the UK.

I have to agree with that there. I do realise it is mint but thats a lot you're asking for. Still, don't ask, dont get, ay....

never heard of that before?? you suggest i take mine out the car? :secret:

Hello people, cheers for the comments. The mileage is 67000

I was told all the flares that come in imports are disarmed when imported but still left inside the car for show.

I know i'm looking for a lot of money for it, only because of the bits i have fitted recently and i'm now considering removing the new brakes and spoon damper and selling them seperately. if someone is interested in the car then i could come to an agreement with a cheaper price but with the standard brakes fitted and the spoon damper removed. They parts alone cost me £600

Thats the problems with mods though. You rarely get the money back you spent on them!

Well if thats how it is i now have no problem sourcing the original parts and selling many of the mods seperate. I believe the car is worth an Easy £8000 as standard and the mods are worth well over £1000 so if it comes to it i will sell the mods seperate.

To me thats still a very high price!

You can get a decent JDM Teg Type R DC2 for less than £6.5k these days, most with fairly low mileage and some with decent mods (full Mugen zaust systems; light weight alloys, coilovers etc..)

£8k is bordering Teg Type R DC5 territory!

I'm not thread crapping, but have you sorted the slipping clutch Stuart?

Looks a very clean car :)

In my opinion its rude to comment on peoples asking price, unless they don't know what they are doing (Stuarty obviously does) and it needs pointing out they are way off the mark.

If, in this case they are asking a high price because they believe the car is worth that much, keep your opinions to yourself and pm the seller if you feel its needed.

Im sure iv commented on peoples prices before so im not preaching (or at least trying not to :) ). Just something I feel needs to be thought about.

Jon

I think everyone is aloud an opinion.

I'm not trying to preach or tell him what to do. I think its a fantastic car and looks in mint condition; i just feel that sometimes people over estimate what their car is worth and market it a very high price.

I can appreciate that time and effort has gone into this car; and many others but sometimes mods and effort dont mean youll get what you paid for them/time invested.

Unfortunately the way the market is, i feel that asking £8k or there abouts for an 8 year old car that's not in the 'upper market class i.e. BMW, Merc, Audi etc...' will make it for a hard sell.

Dan 1979, i personally don't agree with anything that your saying. You show me a DC5 for 8k because i havent seen one. I can't really be bothered starting an arguement or debate about nothing. I have the car up sale for £8800 if i get it, i get it. if i don't then i just spent time returning the car to standard form and making a much larger profit from the modifications. If anyone is interested in the car please contact me and if your not interested please dont post worthless posts.

Hmmmmm, not really worthless posts, they were all just trying to give some advice mate.

I have to agree, the price your asking is at the top end of what they go for but if it is as good as you say, you will have no problems getting that price. :nice:

Looks smart though, good luck with the sale!

Loving the car, best of luck with the sale.

I might be interested in some of the mod's mentioned so let me know if you do decide to sell them.

lol at the DC5 suggestion, completely different car. Besides that, I'd rather have an EK9 anyway!

Good luck with the sale Stuart.
