Cusco Coilover Problem, HELP!

I have Cusco Comp-S Coilovers fitted on the car ( fitted by previous owner ), at the moment the car is not lowered, it is sitting at stock ride height.

i found this out about 3 weeks ago when me and my good mechanic mate set about lowering it. the rear left has problems though. the ring that you wind down first before bringing the cup down to meet it is stuck. the ring only JUST managed to separate from the cup after much effort!! and we wound it down to the height i wanted it lowered. problem is, the cup just wont budge at all...we have bent 2 of those special spanners you use, a heavy blast with a mallet on a flat chizel placed in one of the grooves never budged it and even this really heavy duty wrench with all my mate ( good 15-16 stone of him ) couldnt shift it with all his weight pulling it!!

anyways...

me n him got on his office computer and searched for suppliers of cusco parts. found a company called Toxic Rides and got in touch, asking if they could supply a new ring and cup. they said they could but would have to wait around 6 weeks for delivery from japan, however he said we have a set of HKS ones in stock which ( after speaking to sumone else ) said they would fit and we could have them to you in 2-3 days. so, that said, went ahead and purchased them.

had a bit of a problem with the company in the meantime, the 2-3 days turned into 3 weeks, and after various phonecalls about them only got them at the start of last week. then on friday attempted to go at it again with fitting.

solution was, to remove the shock completely off the car, cut the seized cup off, remove the ring, and fit these HKS ones on. however, problem 2!! we got the shock off, and dammit, the ring and cup i bought has a different thread form, its smaller than the cusco thread so wouldnt fit. and also, it seems that even if we did cut the ring n cup off, there is no way to just start winding the new ones on like my mate had experience with previous shocks hed worked on. so, not being a cusco expert, didnt want to start dismantling it incase he burst the gas section.

so A, im a bit pissed that i couldnt find out after 3 days that they didnt fit
B, instead, had to wait 3 weeks
C, would have been better off just accepting the 6 weeks waiting as its gonna end up taking that long anyways
D, unsure how to go about cutting off the original seized gear and replacing

can anyone shed light on the situation, obviously im gonna have to go get the proper cusco ring n cup ( not from Toxic Rides ) and wait:(

but if anyone has experience with these coilovers, how do you remove the section next to the gas cylinder in order to wind new cups and ring on. it looks like it has some separation peice, but like i said, me, and my mate have never had experience with these shocks

Help Please :(

post pics, have you tried cleaning the area or spraying it with something like PB blaster? or any other penetrating lubricant?
