but it wasn't me who did it, i only found out last night when i went to visit my brother for his birthday today, all i can say is i am not happy. :nono::angry:

it all happened last Sunday when he took the car for a trackday in Subic, all was fine for the first half of the day until he lost control at one of the trickiest part of the track, for some reason he spun out & tried to correct it but it ended up hitting the tire barriers that mark the corner apexes. :angry2:

the car only sustained damages on the left side fender, dented the rear tip of the bonnet & scratched the bumper. fortunately he has gotten a spare EK9 fender to replace the damaged unit, it cost him $40 for the fender.

so instead of me getting a good nights rest & drive the car the next day in the mountain roads i spent the whole night helping him replace the gaddamn fender, as i was removing the wheel nuts i broke one of the wheel studs :nono:, dammit! will things get any worse?

anyway here's a few pics of the car. :(

prior to the trackday he bought & installed a Takata harness but that doesn't alleviate the feeling i have right now, we managed to install the "new" fender but as much as fiddled with it to make it fit as it did before i all came to naught. hopefully the bodyshop that did his AE86's paintjob would be able to correct the fitting when he takes it in for a washover.

we had a chat afterwards & gave him a a few words of advice regarding his driving & reminded him not to push it beyond his abilities, it will take a few more trackdays to get to the level the other driver are at right now & this was his first try.

the fastest guys in the track are doing high 51's with a lot of mods & Advan Neova tires, he was doing low 53's with a stock EK9 & RE001. i told him those times are not bad given that it's his first time, he's also blaming the tires, he feels that they don't have as much grip as the Neova's, i just told him straight it's not the equipment/tires but the driver who's at fault, he just needs to refine his techniques & get more track time.

the important thing is he brings back the car intact next time, next Sunday he will be racing it in the RWYB class (run what you brung), i just hope i don't post up another "crap! he crashed it again" thread. :(

btw that's him in the pics, i made him do all the hard work.

:(, always sad to see any sort of damage to a 9. As long as everyone's ok!

yup he was fine, the safety belts & car did it's job of protecting the driver, he was lucky to drive it home bcoz if it sustained a major crash damage i would have gone ballistic.

hope you get it back up and running with minimal problems m8...

thanks man, everything else is ok, only the fender & bumper is facked up. he managed to finish the trackday sessions with the mangled fender. i'm glad it didn't suffered anymore damages, i just hope he brings it back unscathed after the RWYB race this Sunday.

keeping my finger's crossed.

**** mate, its hard because its your bro too. luckily he didn't rip the Front end off... that would have been worse, and not easy sourcing out a front lip.

damm... g/l getting it as it was b4!

by the way.. great looking TAKATA harness! :)
