When i press the clutch i can hear a squeeking noise coming from the clutch itself. What could be causing this?

well if u press it an u hear the squeek it could be the release bearin....if the noises goes away wen u press the clutch its a bearin inside the gearbox casing itself.

if you press the clutch in and the noise goes away i was under the impression its the pilot bearing, anyways mine used to always squeak when i pushed or released the pedal, i cleaned out the clutch fork re applied grease and poured in some pennzoil synchromesh and it went away.

^i need you to come to the uk and be my friend :p....
hehehe :) ;)
A Q though blinx, my third gear always crunches when changing from 2nd to third (redline).. is it the clutch? recently changed the gearbox oil.

hahaha i was actually born in UK so we may have been friends as children :D that was 18 years ago though...

as far as the third gear issue, this is something i have a lot of experience with  first may i ask:

-what oil did you change to?
-how many miles on your clutch?

usually 2 things will make third gear grind

- a bad through out bearing
- a bad 3/4 gear set (sleeves synchros etc... on 3rd)

if your clutch is old, change it and make sure to use a quality through out bearing. but before you do that check out this thread as it may help you out:

if you open the bonnet and get someone to pump the clutch pedal you can locate the squeek to the clutch slave cylinder, apparantly quite a common problem. you can try to resolve this by prising off the square rubber boot and then lubricating the assembly inside

i have this squeek too, it comes and goes, bit annoying at times

mine squeaked, i changed the slave/master cylinders and it went away...

i have clutch pedal squeaking.

the clutch pedal squeak when I press the clutch, it sounds like it is coming from the Pedal cylinder.

but it only does it after driving for like 5miles or so.

may just lub it up....but will check for leaks

tried lubing mine ut no luck, got a new slave cylinder that i'm fitting tommorow so will update on what difference it makes :woot:

mine squeked too!! bit annoying but the gorgious sound of the mugen twinloop grasped my attention most of the time!!

:)

me too... tho it started just recently after fitting my stage II Excedy clutch! Have not given it much importance as i thought it was a matter of lubrication only...:nerv: will hve it checked & lubricated sooner rather than l8r.

i have a squeek that seems to come from the pedal!!?!?!

Yeah it'll sound like it's coming from the pedal, but get someone to press the clutch in while you listen in the engine bay. It's almost certainly the master cylinder that needs lubing.

Gonna try and sort mine this weekend.

fitted my new lave cylinder and the clutch feels mutch better although my old slave cylinder was way past it!

still got a creak though  think it's coming from where the fork pivots inside the gearbox that the slave cylinder operates :nono:

small update - reased the master cylinder piston inside the car where it goes through the firewall and now after a few drives the creak is starting to go away as the grease works its way in :woot:
