Anytime i get up to 120KMPH on my clock it just wont go any further, so when im flat out in third and then go into 4th it then goes back to 0.

anyone know why this would be happening, i have a buddy club vcon controller thing and an apexi rsm controller. someone said these might be messing up my ECU. its very annoying as i would like to know how fast im going.

heres the vid of it happening

If I rev out fully in third also the engine light will come on! But will go back off once I turn the car off and back on again

the speed goes past 120, but the clock doesnt??? and i have an RSM as well which i assumed got rid of that?

Only if wired to de-limit correctly. You can download the installation and user guides from A'PEXi's website.

im actually taking the thing out to be honest mate, its not wired up correctly cos when im doin 9200 RPM it says im doing 600!

i just need to find someone who can remove them properly and safely!

i will try removing it and see if this is the issue. has anyone ever heard of these going wrong or?

that happened me in a civic i had years ago needle would jump up and down the clock it was my speed sensor in gear box was faulty i am not saying thats what wrong with yours but sounds like it hope this helps

i think thats the problem in my gf's focus actually now you say it.

in mine, the needle never goes wrong, only when at 120, if it was the speed sensor it would happen eratically and not at the same place every time, and sometimes it would work fine sometimes it wouldnt. it would be intermittent. where is this is constant

Keep it like that, next time your caught speeding tell them and show them its limited to 120kph so you couldn't have been doing 115 mph :)

pull the gearbox speed sensor plug off and check the condition of the pins, they corrode and the centre pin usually breaks off. When the engine trys to engage vtec and the speedo isnt working the EML will come on and you wont get vtec.

Buddy club controller and special controller out..... Still clock won't pass 120k but to clarify the car does keep accelerating fine, just speedo stops at 120
