Civic Type R [replica]

Yeah I'm getting the B16A2 this september! Finally! I've been waiting over 2 years for this september to come. Anyways, I'm sorry for u to hear this but I'm going to have to put the Civic Type R sticks and badges around the car just like the real ek9 bc I am making a replica. I understand what u mean wen ppl put ctr stuff on civics that don't even look close to a ctr especially on the coupes and sedans civics. But my car is really going to look like a real ek9.

Nice man :D Ah I get what you mean about badges when it's a full rep, especially when you don't have LHD versions of the EK9. I think the thing that always comes to mind for me is that we have the Irish spec EK9 reps we have here driven by clowns...cheap spray job, 17" rims and the famous Type-R sticker :angry2: It just looks wrong on a 1.4 Civic :p I think yours is going to get pretty much as close as you can to a genuine EK9 by the looks of it

I love the HX a lot. I painted them white because the EK9 comes with white wheels. My brother got the hX rims for me. If i bought new rims, it would still b four lug and that would b a waste of money because I am getting the ek9 rims in the future anyways after I do 5 lug conversion.

I get why you like the white HXs, because they do [from a distance] sometimes look like the '96 ITR rims. They were the first rims I picked up because I hated Si rims (which came on my car). I personally hate the look of drum brakes, which is one reason why I got a '96 ITR suspension setup because a complete EK9 brake conversion isn't only fairly spendy, but they're hard to source out as well. (BTW 4x114.3 isn't worth it due to the much lower rim options). I wanted a 5lug conversion BADLY as well, so I know how you feel about feelin' like everything else is a waste because all you really want is for your car to look as closely to an EK9 as possible. However, *not bashing* and in my humble opinion and by many in the public, sprayed HXs look ghetto, usually paired with the red "H" in the center caps.

But, the suspension/ITR rim's probably the reason why my car was stolen. So to end with a contradiction of what I said prior, keep tryin' to source that 5lug suspension setup and don't worry about having your car stolen for the time being.

My security system is extremely top notch. I am extremely aware of EKs being hot to thieves so I am very well equipped with major security devices and features. I like the HX more than the ITR bc ITR's spokes are too skinny and I don't like skinny spokes. If u look at my HX rims, u wouldn't believe it was sprayed bc it looks freakin amazing and it was done by a body/paint shop. It looks like it came like that from the factory. I painted my HX rims white so that it will resemble the EK9 a bit. I've seen many ppl at car meets with their rims sprayed white and none of them look like mine. U pay for what u get so I guess I deserve how the paint on my rims look bc I paid a lot of money to get those painted. btw, I will do a 5-lug conversion in the future obviously bc I am doing a EK9 replica. Who care's if I will have less rim options, I'm never gonna change it after I get the real EK9 rims anyways. LOL

Yeah man, definitely. I felt the same way about the 5-lug CTR/ITR rims. All I wanted was a replica as well, but I've always been into road racing so wider rims would be better in some ways. Good luck with your build. Hopefully I'll join the EK club again. Just keep in mind that the full suspension setup isn't an easy find.

are those 4 stud rims enkeis off of a mazda mx5 eunos roadster?

Where's the engine shot? or do you still have the d16y8? Good job so far, when I lived in the states I made a CTR from a DX. Took me about 4-5 years and close to $28,000....well worth it though, she is beautiful. But now she is in storage since I live in Japan now with a "real" CTR. Below in my home made EK9, have fun!

This car looks freakin crazy!!!! So awesome! My engine is stock which is worse than a D16Y8. It's a D16Y7. I'm getting my B16A2 THIS SEPTEMBER! Finally, I've been waiting over 3 years for this September to come for the new engine!

Looks the part I like it.
Just need b16b to be a true rep!

nice Rep, looks super clean.. I have a 2k Hatch & is almost complete. I decided to go k20, I'm buying everything little by little. I have done it up almost everything.. Put it this way, all I need is the sunvisors & rear bumper bar. I was going to go RHD but in the end not worth it (CAli anyways). I really like the way the dark grey looks with all the Type R Red also! IMO I like it better that the black now. I will be doing a Build thread as soon as the swap is ready..

Get OEM Mirrors and put an "H" in the center caps!

Nice work ;)

Good job! Only needs EDM/JDM mirrors now to top it off :nice:

You guys have NO IDEA. I got real CTR EK9 side moldings 3 months ago. I got real CTR EK9 mirrors 3 weeks ago. I got real CTR EK9 rear lip yesterday. NONE of those parts are on my car ever since I got them because I didn't have enough money to get all the parts painted. The other night, I was able to save up enough money. This morning, the last remaining parts of the EK9 replica is at the paint shop. The employee told me it will be ready for pick up in 3 days.

Stunning build mate, hats off to you sir for doing this. Looks marvelous. :win:
