Hey, I'm driving right now a 99' Civic 4DR, but am in need of a FG2 civic. I see Cobalts they look great like an import car but well american-made. I can't afford a FG2 which sucks, but some 2nd hand Cobalts are in my price range. Also I was thinking of Salvaged Civic (FG2 type) but am kinda sketchy of them. So all and all this is the cobalt I am thinking of purchasing, should I take it. (Planning on making it more JDM-like) thank.

I would at least try to find a supercharged or turbocharged cobalt, those have potential!!

yeah buddy is selling a 06' for $14k, but now living in the city, it's a little bit out of range for me.

The potential to come to pieces as drive down a mildly bumpy road at 25MPH.

In all seriousness, Cobalts are some of the lowest rated vehicles in build quality and reliability by Consumer Reports if I remember correctly. I would stay away from them.

I would stay with your Civic. Much better platform with more potential. Better vehicle overall, more aftermarket support, lots of engine choices, you can't go wrong. A newer Civic won't have as much aftermarket support and will cost a bundle to work with, so an older 99 is just about perfect.

american made pile of poo

why come on a forum dedicated to the civic type R and ask if we like cobalts

if i went on a gay american muscle forum and asked do they like my ek9 id say they would have a right laugh

Just like when we had a right laugh when you came on a Civic Type R forum with the user name with the word "Saxo" in it.

yea I came on looking for info on ek9's as I wanted to buy one and then I did

so I don't see how our cases are similar at all
