Civic 1.4 Sport

How old are you, if you don't mind me asking? If you're the right age, have you tried looking at Jordans?

Im only 20 so a jordan would be to high insurance for me, its the area i live in that puts my insurance up :(

Ive found a few 1.4's on pistonheads but there all really far from where i live, i wouldnt mind doing the mileage really but would be better if i could find a local 1, just finding 1 tho lol

20 is more than old enough to get low insurance on a jordan or Vti. Maybe even look at 1.5 EK3's. This was my first civic and it was excellent. Cheap insurance, 40mpg as its the vtec-e! It has 117bhp! Tons of parts, etc!

Well ive only got 1 years NCB, been driving a year and half..

For a 1.4 sport its £1900 for me, its the area that i live in.

Ive seen a 1.4SE at a garage..

Silver, looks in good condition.. going to see it tomorrow,
Its up at £1900, 87,000 Miles.. Is that mileage ok ??

Went to go see a 1.4SE today, its in mint condition, FSH, 6 months MOT and 12 months Tax.

Star Silver, really clean tidy car.. going to go get it tomorrow :))

Ill have enough money to buy a good set of coilovers and alloys :nice:

Nice one, sounds good!:nice: good luck with it! get some pics up!:pics:

Don't go for the sport if you want to save money on insurance. Go for the 1.4 SE, its got the same engine and basically the same as the sport. The SE hasn't got alloys as standard but it does have ABS unlike the sport, which has the alloys as standard and no abs.
The sport is insurance group 7 and SE is only 4.

what the ****! lol that is so annoying, ah well, im 18 now and on my 2nd year of driving, with no ncb coz the previous company screwed me over, and im paying £1100 TPFT

I am 20 and on nearly coming up to 3 years experience, and no NCB. £990 fully comp, but its most prob due to my age. :p

thats ridiculous
i hope to get a dc2 when im 20 with 3 years driving and 2 years ncb. (May 2011)
if not ill wait till my 21st bday (17th december)

Nope it hasnt, ma mates friend works at the garage where its at and he wouldnt sell me a f**ked car.

Just did my insurance quote, instead of finding insurance on the net i rang a few companies up, got them down to £1000 for the year, instead of £1900/£2000. Robbing F**kers.

So happy with the quote ive got now, doubt ill get it any cheaper, but im still gunna ring a few more this morning see if they'll budge any more :))

What can you do to make the performance on a 1.4 better ?
Engine mods ? ..

Heres a few pictures, only the ones off the garage website.

If you remove some weight it will improve the performance too also add some breather mods, that will help. There isn't really any point in spending too much money on a 1.4 as you won't get that much gains. Especially if your a young driver insurance will kill after you modify your car and you HAVE to tell your insurer about your mods too, just be aware if you are planning to mod your car.

you can make them a lot faster by fitting a 1600 inlet manifold , good make induction kit , uprated exhaust manifold and a cat back system - with these mods it will be as fast as a 1.5 vtec-e ( i know this for a fact ) and if you want a fast car then vtec it !!
(google dodo-upgrades )

Ah nice 1, how much would all that cost for the manifold etc.. big job ?

ask vtec6000 as he does that sort of work but as far as i know the manifold is about 100 quid
