My english level doesnt allow me to express correctly what i want to ask, yet I'll try:

I have a couple of troubles with my ek9:

1) When i start it when then engine has been off for for hours or more (completely "cold"), the minimum revs goes to 1.5K and gradually up untill 2Krpm[0], it normally would have to decrease when the engine warms up, but in my case it never happens automatically, i have to turn off the engine when its warm and start it up again, then the revs will be in 0.8K (my mechanic graduated it to that point), Does anyone knows what could possibly be causing this problem???

2) Last saturday out of the nothing the SRS check light turned on, and still is (my mechanic told me i need to reset the ecu -havent done it yet-), any suggestions here???

[0]Here, when i roll with the car in 2Krpm, i feel the ek9 having great "torque"(?), is there a way to achieve this rolling the car in regular 800rpms or 1Krpms???.

I will really apreciatte your comments and/or suggestions.

Enrique

1) Your engine will rev higher than normal if you have a vacuum leak on the intake manifold. Check every vac line is firmly connected to the manifold (FPR vac, evap canister vac, pvc vac, brake booster vac), any open source into the intake manifold AFTER the throttle will rev-up the engine.

If you make any changes to the pipes (i.e. reconnect any) then test starting up.

Then you need to check the IACV (idle-air-control-valve) this is located on the back of the intake manifold as your looking at the engine in the car. There is a round electronic connector on the base of the IACV. Disconnect this and monitor the idle. It is possible the IACV valve is sticking open keeping the revs high. If this is the casse then disconnect the unit from the intake manifold, then remove the rubber gasket and the metal gauze. Clean these in brake-clean or petrol even and dry. Then re-assemble onto the car. I believe this is the most likely cause of your problem from your description.

2) the srs light is unrelated but go here for the procedure to reset the SRS light :nice:

I did found out a little pipe belonging to the intake manifold, maybe 1cm long, i covered it y the engine had a huge rev down when cold and just turned off when warm, so hopefully, my mechanic will know where it goes... tomorrow I;ll see and the ecu reset as well...

thanks a lot for the suggestion.

it sounds like you are saying the car does not have torque at low rpm, that is the nature of the engine. b16b does not like to be under 2500rpm so in normal driving you should be above 2500rpm.
