cheapest form of racing

125cc shifter kart racing, low cost....hummmm maybe if used.
Most require 80cc experience first, in the US of A, which makes it expensive.

But man are shifter karts a blast...

yes tamma it can be expensive but this club ive been put on to does the whole day kart rental and championship just for £45 per race,
personally there's no better way or cheaper way to get into racing and ive done a bit of research

but on another note drifting is very cheap! can race in a car that costs as little as 2k and races are only £150ish

Yup, that sounds like the way to get'er done cheaply.
Why buy when you can rent?!?

yes haha exactly, i will see how it goes but in reality id like to be racing around in the good old civic rather than a kart but beggars cant be chooser and all that

If you are just starting out a bone stock civic is actually very fun to race, along with others with same setup; Stock.

A fully independent suspension civic; a blast on track. EK or not, hint hint.

tamma ive got the hint haha i know what your saying,
im in the process of building my boosted c4 ej9 so like you say yourself track days are going to be the ones i think,
or hill climb, sprints or rally nav the only reason for this is you dont have to fork out for the expensive safety features and the session prices arent going the brake the bank. next years going to good year i know that :drive:

Ive built up a track car which was expensive. Ive also bought a built up civic with a K in it already and simply bolted in a cage. I am having way more fun in the bought civic over the built one, because it was low cost mainly.

Safety is needed no matter what car or kart you drive, pay for safety, be it helmet fire suit or what ever else will keep you alive or a few more seconds to exit car quickly.

Lastly, have a great time. Talk to others and learn what you can. Help others that need it at track, it will come back x10 more when you need it.

Didn't think it was that cheap. I did a round at llandow a few years back. Endurance race sharing the kart between three of us and I think was in the region of £240.

It's good fun but those karts are tricky to drive. direct drive karts just literally don't do slow so you've got to be flying round all the time.
