This is by no means a plea for you to donate (I'm not even a fan of CaterhamF1)
Just a discussion on the items they are offering, in case some of you are collectors they are offering various F1 parts etc for donations.

https://www.crowdcube.com/caterham/

I did notice they are getting rid of various race suits also, again this maybe irrelevant to most of you but I know there will likely be a few people interested in some objects they have to offer.

What are your thoughts on this approach to "saving" the team as they put it, would like to hear your opinions as people like Christian Horner and Ron Dennis are all totally against it, do you guys think it's a good idea?

Personally I like the thought of it (for smaller teams) if I had the money I'd likely buy a few of the things available.

Discuss below.

Im against it. Poor management has got them into this trouble and the ridiculous cost of F1.

Used to love the F1 but I would rather watch the btcc now.

I was expecting to see gears for sale, but further down the list offers some real nice parts. Obviously useless for anything other than decor.
Would expect more of the current cars parts available, like turbos or parts of the kers system.

Why are people against it?

It's just another way of making money. What's the difference between selling their own stuff and having sponsors and having a name of a company/corporation splashed down the side?

F1 sponsorship used to be like 90% tobacco advertising. Selling off a few old bits is not as bad as promoting lung cancer in a box Like they used to!

Making extra money by products and advertising is fine however this money is so that they can enter the final race!

I feel sorry for the staff that have been screwed over by this.

All the good stuff is gone!
It's sad though, cost something like 400 million to make the cars and run the team for a season...
£2.5 million for a single grand prix...speaks for itself.
Extremely bloated industry with a lot of waste.
