Wondering if anyone can give me some ideas.

Basically at the moment I'm running a temporary catch can setup which vents to atmosphere via a filter.

I have a line running from the rocker cover and a line running from the rear of the block (with the PCV valve removed).

I was thinking of getting something like this instead as I'll be running 10 - 16 psi of boost:

The only problem is i get really bad headaches from the oil vapour - the can is currently situated next to the battery and i'm wondering if the fumes are being sucked in via the blower system.

Has anyone ever seen a closed catch can/venting system on a turbo (close to the oem system of re-introducing the vapour into the intake with the oil being seperated via a baffle) or should i just look to relocate the catch can further forward?

Relocate the catch can to the other side or run a pipe of the top of the can away somewhere tucked away to allow it to vent away from blower system.

Only thing I can think of other than a more complicated setup. I was looking into setting up a breather system for my Ek once I go boost and will most likely run into the same issues. Lots of options out there though. Im not overly fond of recirculating the vapour back into the turbo/intake system, perhaps into the exhaust system... lots to think about.

Thanks guys, which side of the car does the blower suck air from? From memory its the passenger side...

I know the vent basically runs along the whole length in front of the wipers.

IMO I'd be looking into relocating the catch can!

Yep i think thats going to be my first try - think i might just cable tie it in different places to see where it works best. :nice:

Pipe idea is nice too as long as the cans baffled i guess, so it seperates the oil before pushing the gasses up the extension pipe and onto the inside of the filter.

Seen the exhaust Bernoulli effect solution - pretty cool but overkill for my application.

Yes I used to run a closed loop baffled catch can on my turbo DC2. The two ports at the back of the block should only be used as a drainback, not to vent.

Vent from the rocker cover and drainback (return) to sump via the PCV hole where the box used to be. Make sure the catch can is baffled and you can make a line to go from the top of the catch can to the turbo inlet.

Jim at http://www.alloyracingfabrications.com/ made me my custom catch can.
