Ive recentley been made redundant after working in the same job for 12 years, now no-one will insure me!:angry2:

I dont see why im uninsurable just because im not employed, what difference does that make to the way i drive?

How are you paying for it? Monthly installments?

Because uninsured people have a higher risk profile than those that are employed.

No I always pay for it in one go, they said due to my circumstances they can't insure me even though I've never had an accident or claim, just the fact that im not working at this exact moment.

Statistics say you are more likely to crash hence a higher risk.

End of :)

Online or Over the phone? Ive never heard of that problem. You shouldt try Sky Insurance that are on the forum. Hope your sorted soon!

Tried both mate, tried sky and a few other import specialists with no luck, it's not looking good.

Definitely a strange one!! I dont see what employment has to do with it, what if youre a multi millionaire and dont need to work, insurance is far to confusing!

Where have u checked? I used to work for a insurance company and if people details changed then sometimes the underwriters won't insure. We would then, what we called at work is rebroke the policy. Find a different UW that is willing to insure. I'm sure with some search you would get insured for a tad more than u was paying when employed.

I accept that as im currently unemployed i have more time to myself to drive around, so i would be willing to pay extra because of that. My problem is no-one will insure me full stop, they are all saying if it was a uk car with no mods i wouldnt have a problem.
