When my input shaft bearing was gone it growled on idle and in 1st and second gear, in the higher gears the load is away from the input bearing and the noise went away.Sound M8 I will keep an eye on it so if it get any more loud I will just fix it , now you can barely hear it ,but now and again maybe 3-5 times a week it chatters but as soon as that happens I push the clutch in and let it back out and the noise is gone ,
Your right I gess it all boils down to what power is going on ,but in my opinion for our roads I don't think you need any more than 250-300 BHP, but I'd be happy with 270 BHP and have it reliable as a daily driver , I'd love my motor to be like that
The noise your hearing could also be a spring in the clutch rattling
