I want to change my cambelt, but Honda parts said they can't get the belt listed for the EK9 anymore or can't.

told me to look at the belt itself and some number on it so they know what it is.

does anyone know what it is? just saves me opening up the rocker if i can find out.

oh ok, i would have thought same as the B16A?

or are all the B18C B16B and B16A use the same belt?

thank you guys really really need to find out, want to get big service done:drive:

NO, b16a is different.

always remember a b16b is NOT a fixed up b16a. it is a destroked b18c.

yeah I know it is been said but I need someone with the physically experience to be sure.

I just want to make sure thats all 100%, not doubting you or anything mate. :nice:

right i get them to order me a DC2-R belt then.

Thanks blinx

Sorry to jack but .... when is the service interval for the timing belt?

Mike

i'll try and dig out the part no. for you as i had the cambelt/tensioner/tensioner spring/waterpump changed when my car was imported and i've got the receipt from Honda :nice:

don't worry guys! I got it sorted! And 100% correct it is the same Belt as a DC2 B18C.

we looked at the Part number for a JDM DC2 using the chassis number, the part for the Cambelt is Exactly the same.

Hence the Part for the B18C in the UK is the same!

thanks guys

that reminds me I forgot to get a new tensioner

Around every 70000 km must be replaced for safety according to most mechanics. Timing belt is just a belt but is the most critical engine component. If it gets cut, then the engine is instantly dead!
