Buying from Ireland?

Hey guys,

I sold my Integra about 5 months ago and want another vtec already lol! This time round im looking at getting an ek9 :D

Im interested in a few in Ireland and they are a lot cheaper so wanted know of peoples experience of buying from there.

How hard is it to register?

Insure when still registered on Irish plates?

Any other problems?

One of my friends bought a modified Ek civic from northern ireland, he met the seller in liverpool docks! he had no trouble atall but im not sure about cars from the republic! there allways seem to be so many nice cars in ireland!

Yea exactly loads of nice facelifts with b18c's that look the tits :naughty:
 
make sure the seller sends you a load of pics before you go and view. nothing worse than going to view a car and it turns out to be a dog! as for buying a car from the south its simple buy it take it home and get the registration changed from the dvla for £60 iirc. You'll need to sort out the insurance before you buy it though but you should be able to insure it off the chassis number until you get the reg changed!
 
Be careful aslweel dude! Theres a lot of dirt boxes around aswell! I recently looked at an ek9 for a friend which looked mint in the ad and was asking 5k when i saw teh car its had clearly been crashed and very badly repaired! If you are going to look at one drop me a pm I might know the car! :)

x2! A LOT of rough yokes around at the minute. Get as many detailed pictures as possible before you waste your time travelling over
 
@ elchunk - Cheers mate, yea i would try get loads of pictures and would ask the forum about the car aswell :) Good to know its easy enough to register.

while lot of heaps of shite for sale in ireland

every ad is mint this and prisine that and most of the ads are full of bullshit

plenty of lads around ireland in here that could take a little look at a car before you would make the trip over

i've looked at a few cars for members on here but im very fussy when it comes to cars in general

if someone tells me their car is mint ill go around her with a fine tooth comb

ive never been to see a car that was mint yet
 
my advice to you mate is just be careful as they are a lot cheaper than ones in the britain there is a lot with dodgy history and butchered b18s in them as i have learnt from experience of friends buying them over. just take ur time and the right one will turn up

Id be happy to view a car for you mate if it was nearby , but TBH the standard of cars here is poor really.

Ive been to see many that are advertised as mint ( what I take to be as NO marks or problems whatsoever ), but needless to say I have an A4 page of problems written in my head in the first 5mins :angry2:
