basically going to have the car off the road in a month or so and i want to replace all the suspension bushes with new ones. As its going to need the usual ones replaced sooner or later. Plus i what to change the front ball joints as i slightly damaged one when removing the gearbox. Basically can anyone give any advice on the different brands (energy, hardrace, oem etc...) avaliable and where is a good place to get them from? ta!

you any experience with these? cant decide which brand to go for atm.

I do not personally...OEM for me at the moment. Its a big job to swap them all out.

I've got Energy suspension polybushes. Don't rate them that highly, but you know me. ;)

They squeak a bit, and somehow just don't feel 'right', although initially they felt great and really stiffened the car up. Would like to swap them back for some hardened rubber ones in future.

so thats energy out, anyone any experience with hardrace or superpro?

the energy suspension master kit is good value for money but yeah not quite as tight as my previous powerflex kitted cars have been. that said the powerflex kit would probably have cost about 4 times as much

Yes it must be said, if you're not chasing some 'perfect setup' the ES master kit offers exceptionally good value for money if you need to replace worn out stock bushes.

I have Super Flex bushes on the front of mine and they seem really good, no squeaking, car feels and rides really nice on the road and track but they are very very stiff bushes.

Also have Energy suspension bushes on the rear lca (Function 7 arms) all seems good with those at the moment and the ARB bushes as well but they are all fairly new and the rest of the bushes are OEM Honda.

Do you have the red or the black ones installed?

Red ones need to be lubed up a lot more than the black ones as ES impregnated the black polyurethane components with graphite–to add a lubrication property. I had these on my old vti and found that they were fine.

I am leaning towards having mine replaced with Hardrace bushes.

any particular reason why?

I had solid poly RTA's before and I was not happy with them. I now have oem RTA's fitted. I have also not heard a single bad thing about the hardrace bushes. Most people that have them fitted reckon they the best after oem bushes.

indeed. its abt 150% harder than normal rubber but not as stiff as mugen's (200%)

I want one of the full set's Shaun has but hes not replying to the pm iv sent him anyone got a contact number for him ?

Don't go poly whatever you do................

Mardis gras used to race alot of DC2's and would only ever run metallistic bushes or spherical bushes or a combination of them both

Poly bushes as much as they tighten things up bind under certain loading and will wear out faster than a metallistic bush since the metal insert wears against the poly outer

(metallistic is the proper term for oem style bushes by the way)

I run hardrace bushes throughout however run Mugen RTA bushes (exact same as oem but slightly higher durometer) and have done for the last 2.5 years with plenty track use and car still feels as tight as ever.

i would always recomend running oem RTA bushes, the oem trailing arms are designed by honda to have some "give" and allow movement of the arm under breaking. this movement alters the toe angle and improves rear end stability. obviously running solid bushes will cause the arms to bind

another good tip is to run poly ARB mount bushes for a nice bit of added stiffness

it's not as simple as "poly bush it up and will be super tight", hondas have a very advanced suspension setup and alot of research should be done before modifying any area of it
