Hi.
Need some advice on lowering. Ive fit my ej9 with 16" slips and it looks like offroad car. How to lower it without splashing alot of cash?

been thinking about eibach pro kit springs, but they new are not cheap, on the other side its hard to find them in good used condition.
What about shocks and springs from ek9? im doubt they will made my suspension lower..
any advise?

If you want to go cheap, cut the springs. Bear in mind though, cheeping out on suspension will make your car handle like **** and give you a horrible ride. It mite give you the "lowered" look you want but you would sacrifice a hole lot more in the meantime.

No, im not going to cut springs. Like I said i have 2 options - replace springs with lower set or used shocks springs from other car, but im afraid i will not get good result with replacing them from ek9 ones.

imo you would be best off buying some cheap 2nd hand coilovers if your just wanting to go low, after 30mm lowering springs on oem shocks make the ride bouncy as ****, i know from experience. that said cheap coilovers also make a shat ride, u cant go low and be comfortable suspension is all about compromise.

ek9 is your best bet for cheap suspension. It will be slightly lower and handle much better than lowering springs or cheap coilovers

Ive found one set on ebay (4 hours left) for £112.
How low ill go from what i have now? Your opinion - 20-30 mm?

Yes 20mm is about the most you can expect, it's not going to be super low but it will outhandle anything else available for the same money. A bonus is that the dampers are rated for the stiffer EK9 springs which makes them much more suitable for running lowering springs at a later date, which will generally not be a great deal stiffer. The Eibach front rates are around 275lbs compared to the stock EK9 250lbs. It's a lot for EJ9 dampers to deal with but a breeze for EK9 units.

So ill go for ek shock and springs setup. (hope to look not too high)
They will fit straight? What is right price for them?(60k miles, seller Ronildo - maybe from our forum?)

I need to have something else to fit it on ej9 or its straight fit?
Anyone?

yeah mate, it will be straight fit. Seen the ek9 suspension on ebay too, but I dont have ebay :(

I baught my car with 60mm spax springs on standard shoks iv now put in a b16 and its lowered another 20mm, got struts and anti roll bars gotta say its just right, handles good and doesn't bounce eitha

heat them springs up with a torch! :nono:

buy a set of springs is best. coil overs even better, double adjustable if you can afford.

Lucky guy. It'll transform your car and one of the best mods money can buy I think. Tbh, I think ek9 suspension is more than adequate especially with the condition of our roads!

Im doubt if the springs in type r dampfers must be thicker? Cos mine old from ej9 and new ek9 looks identical.
