I have a nice set of pads and rotors up front (hawk HPS) and i am in the process of converting to rear disc and I was wondering how much of a difference buying a set of cheap rear pads would make as opposed to getting a set of HPS's for the rear? Sorry if it's a really stupid question.

Personally i think you would get away with oem all round on the rear so long as you have a decent set-up on the front which you do. :nice:

ya if it s not a serious track car honda pads will be fine in the back, most of the braking force is generated at the front. big beefy front brakes are way more important

I would say the same as the others oem pads should do as the fronts are the action end

Thanks all you really saved me a huge pain in the ass:nice:

Best of luck to you all

For the road, OEM is fine. For track, get good rears too.

Yep decent pads on front only will change brake balance on track.

You only really need to worry about going away from oem on the rear if you are a regular on track and are 'quick' Majority of occasional trackdayers will take a long time to get beyond the limits of oem. Especially if you have a good quality brake fluid and braided hoses.

Brake pads will only perform and last as long as you you took to bed them in, as your cooking them to a hardness during bedding in period. Too much heat too quickly and they will become very brittle, and produce copius amounts of dust without actually stopping that well. Time bedding in definatley has a huge impact on the life and performance! I have hamp pads all round and im well impressed with them over even OEM pads, not pricey either!

its crap! stick w the oem if yours a DD. fyi m using ebc yellow atm & will be switching to project mu next. its got the stopping power but without the pedal feel.
