hi
I race circuits in Georgia with my ek9 type R. (+b20b). i have improved an engine but brakes are not enough, i need to fit new bigger brakes. can you tell me which (of which car) brakes will be good and easy to fit.

Spoon calipers, or wilwoods. :)
Suprised with decent discs, pads and fluid you still need an upgrade :)

I have ep3 front 300mm's on my dc2 and they do very well on track

I think the twin pot 300mm accord type r setup should be a direct bolt on.

What do you want, more force, or less fade?

b20b, hummm. Are you diving deep into turns? *evil grin*
4pot calipers with big rotors.

What pads are you running?

My recomendation is Carbotech XP12 and spoon caliper with som good rotors.

I have a somewhat similar problem but I'm after a brake setup that will fit under 15". Any ideas?

What are you trying to improve?

The 282mm Wilwood kit retains the stock rotors, so if fade is your issue then they won't offer any additional fade resistance.

After more force? Careful, it's a double edged sword. Why do you want more force?

I really dont think a light ek9 needs anymore than decent discs pads and fluis anyway, i tried to fade mine on track last weekend and couldnt. and mines fast.

At the moment I'm running 262mm@the front with OEM discs and pads. I have an EK4 Ferio and it's a bit heavier than EK4s/EK9s. Driving a bit faster on b-roads // repeatadly braking from higher speeds substantially diminishes the braking force. I have to push harder on the pedal and the braking still isn't the same as before and in either way it's not enough. Not for spirited driving nor for track use, which the car will see in 2013.

On my ex-ITR DC2 98 Spec I had M-Tec blank discs, Ferodo DS2500 pads, HEL braided brake lines and Motul 600RBF. Really liked that setup. That's why I think that the my Ferio won't need anything bigger than something that could go under 15" rims.

I've done some search on the forum about the Willwoods. Is it true that the Willwood kit doesn't use the same pads as the DC2 or Spoon calipers?

Last week was very cold here.
Remember not all users are uk based, and can see 30 degree + track days.
:)

Correct.

A 300mm EP3 setup would be good for you, depending on wheel fitment.

I'm really a newbie and I see you guys here got this really covered so hope you don't think I'm lazy when I ask this ~ is there any significant difference between the choices for pads for the Willwood kit or DC2/Spoon caliper setup? Just want to know if there are any drawback for either of these.

300mm EP3 ~ I've got 3 wheels sets right now -> 2xOEM 15" VTI and 1xSpeedline dunno the name 15x7 ET35. I suppose OEM isn't an option to clear the 300mm EP3 setup. What about the Speedlines?

EDIT:

Remembered that we had a similar issue with 16" rims on my friends 155 Q4 with 4 pot 3XXmm discs ~ almost no 16" rim would clear the bigger brakes but some did because of the shape of the rim. To make a long story short I thought that without the name of the Speelines you probably won't be able to hepl me, d'oh. So I gave google a go and tried to find the name of them but that was easier said than done. So here's a pic of how they look like. Maybe this will help to keep the ball rolling :D

speedline usually have a good size inside rim, I ran 330 brembo's under some 17's
